Gardening

Have a small rear garden in a slope the bottom gets sodden when it rains, is there anything I can do? I thought about digging up a valley at the bottom and filling with stones then recovering, but don’t I don’t know if that would do any good.

I mowed the lawn yesterday

Going into the ground/pots today;

Leeks, parsley, cornflower, phlox, nigella, mixed wildflower

2 x sarcococca

Phlox is a belting plant, great night scent. Currently got a tray full of fresh Rudbeckia seedlings coming through, want about 24 plants, next up trailing cherry tommy seeds going in the propagator.

I have got into the garden over the last couple of years and have developed a strange obsession with my lawn, I am getting out there tomorrow to give it the first cut of the year. I have ordered a scarfifier and an aeration tool and i'm looking at top dressing to level the lawn as well. Keep watching videos on Youtube and feeling a proper old c**t.
Check out the lawnsmith website.there’s lots of good lawn care advice on there. Main tips are to cut it little and often, while not cutting too short. Never take more than a third off in one cut

This sounds great, I've been hammering the end of the garden where the sun goes and where we sit with all sorts of great looking stuff. All new to me so see how it all goes. I get this seed packet, with however many tiny little seeds in (100?) but I have zero idea how much space that is supposed to cover, and if there's some allowance for failure etc, so I just bunged em all in two large pots, all good.
But worried I've jumped the gun looking at this week's night temperatures?

Also I'll have to Google a propagator, dunno what this is, and I've got cherry toms to go in too

Decided to take the plunge and get a landscaper in to quote. I decided to get rid of all grass and hedges at a bare minimum. Feel bad from environment pov. But cutting through hedge trimmers wires, pouring tons of slug pellets/ant killer/weed killer and mowing a lawn that either gets waterlogged or burns to a crisp or gets crapped on by the local cats. Gaden is 11x8m so lets see how much that costs.

You tube French drain....could be the answer to your prayers

I used to buy plants in the Parkside haha!
My brother-in-laws step brother ran an interesting side line in plants. Like if you spotted any you liked, he would er "obtain" them for you. Leaving holes all around the neighbours gardens.
