He's doing the right thing. It was obvious at the world cup that he's a shadow of the player he was in his prime. His legs have gone. He can concentrate on his golf now.

A nice way to remember him.....

That bicycle kick is one of the best goals you'll see in a game of that magnitude. Puts "Wazza's" shinned effort against us in the shade

Yeah I think everybody pretty much knew he was retiring after the World Cup and going to USA was a way to tick over until then

It’s the right move

Hell of a player in his prime and when firing on all cylinders. Too many injuries and lack of passion for playing sent him downhill pretty quickly. He’s still only 33, should’ve really still been playing at a good level. People can say things like “his legs are gone”, maybe that’s true, but they probably go that bit quicker when you haven’t got the passion to really apply yourself anymore.

Still, he’ll be happy. Won plenty of trophies, scored important goals in finals, made a shit ton of money, got his country to major tournaments etc etc. great career really

Now he can enjoy his golf

I think he's sacked it off because he knows he'll never equal the great harry kane at either club or international level.

Good player in his Spurs days. From a footballing perspective going to Madrid wasn’t good for him although from a financial perspective it was obviously very, very good. I expect he’ll turn his attention to trying to make it on the European PGA Tour.
