Good player in his Spurs days. From a footballing perspective going to Madrid wasn’t good for him although from a financial perspective it was obviously very, very good. I expect he’ll turn his attention to trying to make it on the European PGA Tour.

It’s not like he was a bit part player for them for the first 3-4 years. I think people are forgetting how good he was at Madrid for the first few years because they are clouded by the last few years.

Proper big game player that turned up in finals for them with game changing goals.

Scored over 100 goals for Madrid, 7 of which were in cup finals.

Apart from being injury prone, he was excellent for them for the most part when he played.

Had a really good career. Was treated unfairly by the spoilt Madrid supporters from what I gathered.

Will at least put away all the rumours of him signing for ManUre every transfer window.
