Are you gonna change your username to Ben Arfa City? He's not as good as Bale. End of.

You have your opinion and I have mine.

How can someone ALWAYS be wrong? Surely the law of averages must play a part in your life sometimes....................................

I've not been on bluemoon that much the last few days, so just want to clarify... are we ACTUALLY after Bale? Or is this Bale-mania just people willing us to go for him? Has tolmie said something about us going for Bale?

I think Mancini would love him at city and there might be something in Tolmie's videos but Levy won't sell for anything less than 50m I reckon so can't see it

Because he's worth it?

I think he's worth 50m and if we can sell em AJ and Ade for a combined fee of around 25m it would balance it out some what

I suspect ade may talk bale out of coming to us even if it was a possibility...

Some real hints at last?

Bale out? Tottenham star waiting on news of Redknapp's future before committing

Gareth Bale has gone on holiday to decide on his Tottenham future amid doubts whether Harry Redknapp is staying at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham are desperate to keep Bale and have offered him a new contract to persuade him to commit his long term future to the club.

But Manchester City and Barcelona are both watching developments and have got the Welsh flier on their transfer hit list this summer.

City are prepared to break the bank to land Bale while Barcelona want him but are not prepared to meet Spurs' sky-high valuation.

Bale has already admitted he wants to be playing in the Champions League next season and Spurs missing out could be a major factor.

But Spurs boss Redknapp is also facing an uncertain time as talks are ongoing with chairman Daniel Levy and some of the club's big name players are watching developments and fear the manager could go this summer.

Mirror Sport revealed last week that Redknapp and Levy are heading towards crunch time as the Spurs boss wants assurances about his future as he believes some figures at the club want him out.

Redknapp wants a new contract, Levy was disappointed that talks stalled in February while the England job was on the agenda and is now in no rush to give him a new deal.

It leaves Spurs at a crunch time with Bale and Redknapp at a crossroads and the club will now have to make big decisions.

Redknapp is also a target for a Middle East consortium who want him to manage in Qatar. Redknapp was tempted last year and another money-spinning offer is being put together which could also be a factor.

They may also face a struggle to keep Luka Modric with Manchester United watching developments and Sir Alex Ferguson a keen admirer of the Croatian playmaker.

Once they said Modric to United I knew it was a windup. They don't have £35 mil and 150k in wages

Lol, thought the same, if chelsea couldnt land him for around 45 mill then that financially bereft club up the road have no fucking chance

Levy fucked Modric out of a European Cup. He'll have no trouble holding back Bale's career similarly.

Spurs players stupidly sign long term contracts and Levy lies to them. Modric said he tells them he will let them leave but then goes back on it. Wouldn't deal with him unless we have some leverage.

If we sign any other winger I'll be disappointed. Bale and only Bale for me.

Really?! I'd give the lad a bit more credit for making his own decisions than that..................

The last few pages of this thread are priceless - if one listens to the chairman and manager, 1, at a push 2 what would be called marque signings will arrive, we raised the bar considerably in the league this year and will better it next IMO, even with the current squad. Bale is a no brainer as he's integral to a European assault and is widely feared, in city's side he would be frightening, think early season counter attacking city and add this to the melting pot- yowser, we'd also have someone to keep up with yaya (:

I could feasibly see something like

switch Nasri and Bale and looks more likely

I'd love Bale and Martinez, what a perfect window it would be if we could get them both. There is no chance of us signing 4 'world-class' players this summer though, for me, Martinez and Bale would be unreal.

------------------Hart----------------
Richards---Kompany---Lescott---Clichy
-------------Yaya---Martinez---------
Nasri-------------Silva------------Bale
-----------------Aguero---------------

By the way, Lescott is good enough.

Bale would be an incredible signing, but I just can't see it happening.

Maybe Ric but do you reckon there is some deal with Adebayor though? I don't think we did a deal with them last year without expecting something more in return.

Fuck me. That is a team and a fuckin half.

Duo to be used as Bale bait

Man City are poised to step up their interest in Gareth Bale with Emmanuel Adebayor and Adam Johnson potential bargaining chips.

Spurs are still negotiating with both Adebayor and the Premier League champions about brokering a permanent £10m stay for the player, who is understood to now be willing to take a drop on his reported £170,000 a week wages.

But City, having seen Eden Hazard choose Chelsea, have also been keeping close tabs on winger Bale, and are aware Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is a huge admirer of £20m-rated Adam Johnson.

Spurs have previously made it clear they are in no mood to part with their £40m rated Welsh raider, but City could now seriously test their resolve with Adebayor and Johnson, plus a major cash adjustment.

Johnson, who only signed a new five-year deal back in January on a reported £70,000 a week, has become frustrated by a lack of regular starts at the Etihad Stadium.

Johnson would be less likely as they don't have a shortage of wingers even if they lose Bale. This IMHO could have some truth with Adebayor though.

Am I the only one who doesn't see how Bale will fit in?

He is an out and out winger we don't play with wingers and even if we did it looks like Tevz and Aguero will be the first choice partnership.
