I'd have him in a heartbeat but the £40 million mentioned is too much for him in my opinion, He would definitely bring a side to our play that is needed but not worth £40 million.

Who would you sign instead then? and how much would you spend on said player?

In all honesty I can't come up with too many big name players that haven't already been mentioned in other threads or would be obtainable but I think the price of £40 million plus for Bale seams excessive too me.

i think he'll cost 30 million tops as they're probably selling modric.

Exactly,plus the fact he isn't even close to his prime,he's worth every penny,especially given such a player will offer us enormous versatility.

Agree with this except Versatility he can only really play on the Left wing he wasn't that good for Spuds roaming about or on the right and we don't need him as a left back because we have Clichy

I never really thought of it like that! Other teams would have to watch that side so much it would free up Silva to be his genius self! Vice versa as well! Teams would have a mare dealing with our attack!
