I didn't say that Marca have bad sources, but everything they print is for Madrid's benefit. In this case to appease their fans. There is zero per cent doubt that Spurs would cash in on him. However, they probably think he is worth £80m+ whilst other clubs might not pay more than £60m.

Lets the rags know what they will have to bid to get him, may just be Marca acting on their behalf scaring suitors away. They want him for themselves and I reckon it will be next year not this.
Providing he stays fit, why would spurs sell?
Add Soldado, keep Bale, and maybe add one other to last seasons team, remembering that they already have got Paulinho and you've got a team that with a bit of luck could challenge for the title.

Their defence would need to be more solid for them to challenge for the title. Furthermore, I really don't get the hype with Vertonghen.
