I had this with a Spuds fan yesterday, I told him Bale was good, but not £80m good!dctid said:I just dont get why any one would pay such a transfer fee for Gareth Bale.
Without doubt a top top quality pro but he will never ever score the quantity of goals or deliver consistantly like Ronaldo or Messi
Dont matter how much they get for him Spuds wont be able to replace Bale as there are no equivalent players out there.
Personally i hope Bale stays for one more season so we can see if he can replicate his 2012 performances - personally i dont think he will.

He had a good season last time around, but against us, he never stood out as anything overly special. A good player yes, but to me, he's more of a typical British speed merchant with a loaded left foot.
To say he's on the level of both Ronaldo's, Ronaldinho, Messi, Zidane is stretching Bale's abilities a tad too far IMHO. Before last season, I reckon he was worth £25m tops, after last season possibly £30m-£35m but no more than that. If I was Levy, I'd rip Reals arm out of its socket & Bale the fuck out with the dough & build a team capable of challenging for the title consistently.

No pun intended ha ha. But yeah I agree with you there.
Ronaldo is 28 so the are looking for someone from 18-24 who is going to be a worthy figure head for Real Madrid. Someone very good, scores goals, etc but looks good on posters. I'm not sure who are the other candidates now that Neymar went to Barcalona.mancboy said:I just dont understand what makes bale worth 80m or more, 23 goals and 11 assists last season was it, that is very good statistics but not ronaldo or messi or even ibrahimovich class, he didnt push his team towards a title or even drag them over the line to a fourth place finish, no cups won and to make it worth it in prize money alone real madrid would probably have to take home la liga and the CL next year.
At no point am i saying bale is not a good player, he quite clearly is but for a player who has achieved nothing in his career as of yet apart from alot of hype that kind of money is ludicrous and id like to know from anyone who thinks he is worth that kind of money, what makes him worth that kind of money.
