Gareth Bale

the last 2 madrid exiles to the PL started on fire but faded away devastatingly and Bale's confidence seems to be shot.

having said that, we are neither arsenal nor the rags so I expect he would bounce back with us splendidly. 50-60M and it would be good value for money, although I am still a bit worried how he would operate in the limited space that we are given when faced with 2 banks of 4

Me too. I don't doubt he's a great player who would improve most teams in the world and he would satisfy those who think we need more pace in the team. But as long as we persevere with a slow build up, allowing defences to organise and refusing to hit teams on the break with pace, just how well would he fit in? He's also a confidence player and when it's gone it can be difficult to get back. He struggled for a while after his move to Spurs and only got his mojo back when Arry rocked up.

Yes, that's the problem with Bale. He doesn't seem to have much idea when surrounded by players. No one would argue Nasri is better than Bale, but put Nasri in a confined space and he will shield the ball and find a way out of that pocket of space. Bale will probably try and cross it and hope it gets through or deflected out. But Bale's pace and directness could be of great benefit to us and such a signing would have a big psychological boost on the team. And maybe it's time we altered the way we play, just like Barcelona have. They still pass very well but have so much skill and pace through Neymar and Suarez.

Please Your royal highness Mansour make this transfer happen, we wouldn't be so slow, we'd have good set pieces, he's home grown, he solves the problem on the left. He shoots from outside the box, he can head a ball towards goal...pretty please just don't let Txiki sign a bunch of duds and just sign Bale

Ridiculous money for a very good but nowhere near, world class player.

Spuds should rip Madrids arm off and laugh all the way to the bank.

Nowhere near world class? Absolute clown.
But he isn't, so along with Real that makes you the clown fella.....

Bale nowhere near world class? The only way you can mean that is if you're counting world class as just Messi and Ronaldo. Get him in our side and he'll outscore Hazard and match him for assists just like he did for his last 2 years at Spurs. He had a great season with Real last year and scored really important goals. He's that good if the rags get him and we keep signing the average players we've signed in the last couple of years they'll finish above us easily. If he comes up for sale we can't let a rival get him.

He'd walk into our side and help take us to the next level.
Much higher class of player than the dogshit we've been buying lately

Why's it even a question? Easily the best homegrown player in the world, in exactly the position where we've been looking for a player for years, has shitloads of pace, which we also desperately need, and can actually take a corner. I don't think they'll sell him though. Not for less than they paid.
