If Bale is sold does anyone honestly think Levy will sell to either us,the rags or anyone else in this country...Spurs are not like Arsenal.

Bale will be going abroad IMO-Madrid or Bayern

No, he wont. Home lovin' boy.
As for IF Bale is sold - everyone (inc spurs) know its WHEN.

just being in the CL isnt enough, he wants a chance to win it. No other club in the world can afford him and offer him that prospect.
Spurs have no prospect of winning the CL - without spending at least £200m. They haven't got FP sorted for that to happen.
They would be happy to try to win the Prem and win a trophy. Their team isnt good enough and the top players wont go there. They have to sell bale to move on to that level.

By the way - I gave you HAZARD as a done deal last year. It was, right up until Chelsea offered him a contract which stipulated he HAD to be selected for EVERY game. City wouldn't do that, so the deal collapsed and they snatched him at the eleventh hour.
Bale isnt a city player until hes signed. All I am saying is that the deal in principle has been agreed between the clubs - just as it was with Hazard..............

He's worth about £38m tops.

claptrap

There's been plenty of times when hazard hasn't been selected to play, stop wumming.

Wrong pal. I think ANY1 is right on this.

Hazard has had full appearances (31 to be exact) for Chelsea domestic games (PL) this season. Only times he has not been selected is post red card v Swansea and the odd few European games. I am pretty sure that he had ensured appearances (be it sub or starting) for Chelsea domestic games when signing which Man City would never do for him and wanted that flexibility due to "rotation" process Mancini likes.

ANY1 is pretending to be ITK? LOL.

So... who do we want to not make the champions league this year?

Always thought Chelsea were our biggest competitors in the market, but Spurs missing out would obviously give us a bit of an advantage in trying to sign Bale

I want spurs to miss out just cause I hate the club and everything about them. Plus at least Chelsea will be a better watch for the group stages. For those saying Rafa doesn't care about top 4 is ridiculous, he believes he can get top 4 along with winning Europa league. He's not an idiot and if Madrid somehow sell ronaldo this summer bale is as good as gone whether spurs make top 4 or not

Chelsea are the bigger threat, so hopefully they will miss out - they will find it tough to attract top players (and managers, incl Jose) without CL football. Missing out on top 4 could really knock them back and cause a bit of chaos, so it may be that the cloud of losing to spuds at the weekend has a silver lining.

I'm less worried about spurs as competition as I don't think they will invest enough to go to the next level. As for Bale, if he gets the right offer, he may want out regardless of where they finish.

Dream scenario would be Chelsea miss out, but then Real Madrid poach AVB off spuds and leave them in the cack - the whining of the spuds fans would be epic.

AVB at Real?

Wouldn't last three months. He collapsed under the player power at Chelsea. Never mind trying to manage Real.

Where the fudge are we gonna get 80 million quid from???

I dont think getting it is the issue, its being allowed to spend the fucker.

Probably a better way of putiin it. Everyone keeps bangin on about spendin big this summer but i can't see how that's possible under these UEFA sanctions.

We'd have to sell very well and early in order to grab any 'game changing' players.

Assuming we lose out on Cavani and Falcao I would suggest its better that Chelsea qualify for CL as then bale would want out and there's no way Higuain would go to spurs if not in CL. So if spurs lose out we could get Higuain and possibly bale.

-- Wed Apr 24, 2013 3:55 pm --

Assuming we lose out on Cavani and Falcao I would suggest its better that Chelsea qualify for CL as then bale would want out and there's no way Higuain would go to spurs if not in CL.
