Gareth Bale

With what Levy would want for Bale, are we not looking at 60-70% of our transfer budget going on one player if we're able to sign him? Without doubt it'd be a transfer record for two English teams (£50million+) and could go much higher than that with Levy involved... unless he wants Nasri or Dzeko in exchange.

ANY1 is pretending to be ITK? LOL.

Are you claiming to be ITK where i am concerned? Im telling you what I know - whether you believe it or not is up to you. Think you might find the press have picked up on something today - but at least I gave it to you YESTERDAY!

To be fair ANY1 told me about the chase for Bale about 2-3 days ago and this news only broke today.

Stuart Brennan wrote the article for the MEN, we always hear him as the first reporter on the OS pre-match press conference so, tolmie may know better, but taking a guess maybe someone at City has told him we are going for Bale, Cavani/Falcao and Isco?

that £80m figure is living in dreamland if hes been briefed on that. Bale, Isco & one of Falcao/ Cavani... wouldnt see much change from £130m

Bale is just a complete none starter IMO. Literally think we'd have more chance of signing Ronaldo (also a none starter) than Bale.

The question is, if he had been in our team this season, would we had draw with, Liverpool, Stoke, West Ham, Chelsea, QPR, away and Everton and the gooners at home, and lost to the rags, Southampton, Sunderland, Everton and Spurs? The answer I think would be that we would have won 4 of the one's we lost and won 5 of the one's we drew. With one of those games being a 6 pointer against the rags, that is a 24 point shift and another title. Let alone what a difference he would have meant in Europe. Lets look at what we get and stop going on about a player being priced to high. Its a small time attitude.

You don't ask, You don't get.... !

Brennan does say "City will launch an £80m-plus summer spending spree", which shows that Txiki is not going to take the piss easy route like Bayern and eliminate clubs involvement by activating the Release Clause of a player when they've agreed terms. Txiki will more than likely be discussing fees, payments and future agreements (add-on etc) with Levy, De Laurentiis and Al Thani and will then assess who he can bring in and if need be who he can give up on go after the second choice.

Bale, Cavani and Isco are all the "grade A" players and Txiki and his team will have a plan on how to negotiate the prices down with an aim to bring all of them in. It does say
The Blues hope to have between one and three marquee signings (Cavani, Bale, Isco), and a number of less stellar purchases of young, promising players, such as Roma defender Marquinhos
... meaning we are looking at potentially 4-6 players coming in...

I've never seen Brennan to be a full of shit journo in the past so but this does show we are in for AT LEAST 1 marquee signing!

Spurs, Napoli, Malaga or any other team for that matter, will know they will not get full price. If we were to pay asking price, we would have heard about it by now as Bayern did with Goetze, before the window even opening.

Dzeko going to Spurs is very likely as Spurs a gagging for a top end striker and Dzeko would fit AVB's needs and system... so long as Dzeko & Bale agree to it that is.

He will not be sold for more than 40m and that is over the ods. Thats why he will stay where he is, as the price they want is way over the top.

So how much should we be prepared to pay for Bale?
The press are quoting £65m - £100m

Would being managed by Mancini be a disaster for the player?
What I mean by this is that Bale is very direct. Mancini likes ball players and retaining possession. Would it be similar to when SWP joined Chelsea and his career stagnated?

I have heard from an 'inside source' that a deal for Bale was done last weekend! 80m + Dzeko........................also heard that Pep Guadiola will take over from Mancini in two years time.

Is your 'inside source' a crack addict?

All this nonsense about Spurs wanting 80 million for him is simply a way for them to stop clubs from wanting him. And negotiations always work this way, start high and lower the price as much as you can. The maximum Bale will go for is 45 million in my opinion, can't see anyone paying more than that. I'd be really happy if we got him so fingers crossed.
