Gareth Bale

How do people rate Reus compared to Bale? Both would be played on the left of a 4-3-3 if we're changing our system.

Bale: 36 appearances, 21 goals, 8 assists (directly involved in 29 goals)
Reus: 36 appearances, 16 goals, 11 assists (directly involved in 27 goals)

Bale would probably cost £50million+ for an English club because Levy wouldn't even sell Modric to Chelsea for £40million. Bale is proven in the league and British (homegrown) with good marketing potential.

Reus, if available before 2014 (when a £24million release clause activates), would probably only be gettable with a £30million to £35million bid if Dortmund willing to sell him. He is proven in the Bundesliga and Champions League, and can play left, right, or centre effectively.

On this season's form alone I'd give Bale a slight edge but, if the asking prices are accurate, there isn't close to £20million of talent between them and Reus could represent better value for money (if gettable).

If we're gettin a bit 'Football Manager' about it... I'd have both of them instead of Cavani, Falcao etc. Those two either side of Aguero would be somethin to behold!

Just can't see it though... too much money

I would like Reus as i think his style of play is just a bit more in tune with the current squad and tactics.
However it really all depends on what directions we take in summer i think before saying x and y as definate ideals.

pretty much what TCIB said it all depends on how we want to set up for next year and where and what direction txiki wants to take this summer. I like reus better just cause and I just keep looking back to what levy did with Chelsea over modric

he is one of the best 4/5 players(if not the best) in last 4/5 seasons of premier league.i would be happy if we even get him.may it be for 45/50 or even 60 million.

Football/Sporting Director pretty much gives you the right and responsibility to restructure anything about a team... with the advice and support of the manager of course.

I agree... Stick Silva in the hole behind Aguero... Holy fucki.

That would be some forward line

What worries me is that our midfield would still not be good enough.
We need to buy more energy and legs in midfield.

Without addressing that problem first the forwards won't get the ball to impact the game. If Rodwell can have a solid pre season then we have a chance of not needing to spend but I would anyway just to add more bodies to the team.

I think we are going to see a replacement for Barry definately come in this transfer window. Barry is coming towards the end of his contract and although i think he will remain with the club I do not think he will be the first choice next season.

Garcia still has not cemented that position as his own so i think Txiki and Bobby will be looking to sell and add to that position.

do you honestly think that dortmund, after selling Gotze and it looks likely that Lewandovski will be gone that they will also sell Reus !!

I cannot see that happening, unless they want to seriously understrengthen their own side for next season.
