Gareth Bale

It's a hell of a risk to rely on Rodwell and Fernandinho, if Yaya was to be offered. If we had got Thiago I'd have been tempted. As it is I think we must keep Yaya.
 
I think the two Croatian boys should look at Bale less as an example more of a warning. Levy charges a premium when selling players and unless his valuation is met then the player stays, even to Spurs detriment i.e. Modric last year.

I think for young players they see Spurs as a stepping stone club, not quite at the top tier but just a level below. The problem for any young player who joins is that Spurs see themselves as a top 4 side with outside chances of the league so they don't need to sell players.

For me Spurs will never spend enough to develop a squad that can compete for both the league and in Europe so if they do finish top 4, the following season you can be sure they'll fall out of the top 4 due to the pressures of playing Champions League.

Spurs have a really good first eleven with a bit of cover in midfield (they are well covered with Paulinho, Dembele, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Dempsey and Holtby) but their defence isn't quite up to it and up front they have Adebayor, Defoe and very little. Bale's brilliant form masked their deficiencies last year but as long as they fail to invest in their squad they will always be ranked with Arsenal and Liverpool as contenders for top 4 without being real challengers.
 
Personally i'd go for bale at any cost,fuck ffp and tell them to name their price for him..

Couldn't agree more he's the most exciting player in this country by far at the moment. He would definitely push us to the next level.
 
Just a reminder this rumour comes from a KFA transfer account on Twitter. NOWHERE else is it rumoured. I know we want a saga after Isco Fever but I don't think this is the one. :P

So we cant spend 100 mil on Bale..

Only 20 mill per year on the book on a 5yr deal,,

Wages...Paid for by outing Garcia,60k p.week Sinclair 40k per week...Kolarov 100k per week..

So thats 200k approx basic wage...If he wants more why not just use another 50k of the 640 k we are saving already from Tevez,Kolo,RSC,Bridge,Balo...

It could easily be done
The new tv deal pays for this also
