Gareth Bale

Posted in another thread that I could very much see him at Bayern next year given all the reports of Pep fancying him when at Barca. Simply can't see any English club paying the fee that Levy would demand.

He is a right winger, or?

Would not make any sense. You do not pay that big sums for a bench player...

Bale is 23, has played 21 matches with 1841 minutes this season in the EPL and scored 11 goals and made 4 assists... - a scorer point every 122 minutes

He would compete with Müller, who is 2 months younger, has bags of international experience more than him, is the asset of the club and homegrown, has 19 matches with 1517 minutes this season in which he scored 11 goals and 10 assists... - a scorer point every 72 minutes... (11 of them have been for 1:0s or equalizers...)

And there is an Arjen Robben on the bench right now with a contract that lasts to 2015...

I know that there is so much speculations right now. But that is one that does not make any sense.
You know better than me, Maldeika but I wasn't sure whether Pep would want to 'make his mark' on the team by getting rid of a Ribery or a Robben to bring in younger players like Bale. That's if he plans to stay at Bayern for a relatively long time (4-6 years).
Is Muller consistently playing on the right at Bayern too?

Masterly strike today no doubt taking lessons from Ronaldo already.

Wish we had a set play specialist of that quality.

Along with some more guile and craft in midfield and replacing Tevez with a younger finisher we don't need much more imo.

Robben maybe - but not Ribery. He really is the love of the people in Munich and he even if he is somehow a diva he is absolutely in the team. He works his ass of for them, too - not the usual superstar that let's the others do the work. I have the firm believe that Guardiola will try to give him the attention he needs. I guess he is smart enough not to try to show the "make his mark" with Ribery. There is others he can do it. Ribery would be a no go if he wants to have the backup of the visitors and the club officials. The Ribery of today is not that van Gaal had to face in 2010 - and Guardiola ain't van Gaal.

Müller at the moment is consistently playing on the right - only twice this year he played the hanging striker role. In the 6:1 against Lille and the 2:1 in the Supercup against Dortmund. It is the only way you get both Robben and Ribery to function really well - but does not offer a compact midfield.

If Guardiola really wants to stay at his philosophy to use homegrown players and build a team around them there is not much he can add to the actual structure.

You have Müller, Kroos, Alaba and Badstuber who still are very young and probably can still improve a lot. Plus Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Ribery, Martinez and Neuer. The only thing that I can see that he will only use one of Schweinsteiger and Kroos and put somebody more dynamic in.

And yes - could be that he implements a new striker. Gomez or/and Robben could be the ones that might have a not very satisfying year...

^^Interesting. Well, it's one less club that we have to compete with should we go in for him anyway.
I love Muller by the way and there are few players in the world I'd drop him for. Imagine he's a real fan favourite too.

Love to get Bale for 3 years if its possible.

Would be far more critical to our set up than RVP would ever be.

Really think this guy is a must! We missed out on RVP and Hazard, if Bale is available to us....I would be shocked if we don't even show some interest!

Spurs value him like Ronaldo. He wont be anything less than £45m and Doubt we'd spend so much for someone who has nowhere near enough profile outside of England and Wales.

Mancini doesn't use wingers. Why is he going to spend a shit load on Bale?

Maybe they aren't his preferred type of player but only a fool would look at Bale and not see how he can improve any team. Doesn't he also play through the middle very well too??

Can't see spuds selling to another premiership team,if they do sell,he will go abroad IMO.

I agree. And he would improve us massively. I just can't see Mancini going for him. Playing down the middle got him his second goal :)

Sounds very likely but surely (Shirley) we have to at least try! Bale is a GENUINE game changer. End of!

because his best position is playing through the middle off a striker, thats why!!!!

That may be. I still can't see Mancini going for him though.

Can't see Spurs selling nor us clinching him even if they did, but without doubt whoever gets him, be it he stays at Spurs or goes elsewhere, will benefit immensely.

He is continually a goal waiting to happen.

If he comes on the market we'll be in for him 100%, unfortunately levy won't sell to us for anything other than above market value, in a nutshell we wouldn't get him!

Levy would want £100 mil off us! :) Just have to get Tranny instead.

We will be after him no doubt about that , he is the most versatile player in the premiership by a mile.

If Barca or Real etc come after him we won't stand a chance of getting him and no doubt one of them will.
