Gareth Bale

They have shown before they don't care about losing face (Mikhitryan) and massaging the true value of players if it helps them achieve their aims of getting an perceived upgrade in.

Some fcukwitted illuminary on rag caf was arguing vociferously that Sánchez was a free transfer. I kid you not.

Clearly Mikhi cost them nowt and had no market value - while the mercenary received no signing on fee and is playing purely for love.

Maybe I’m being naive but I really believe it doesn’t matter who they buy, they’ve spent shit loads in the past few seasons but there’s no plan or idea how they want to play.

They’ll win enough games due to individual moments and Mourinhos style of play but nowhere near us if we improve again.

I don't think that's a naive view at all. I'd be more concerned about United with a more progressive, player friendly manager in charge than Mourinho. They have been underwhelming so often this season with the set of players they already have and I can't help feeling that's because of a) his style of play and b) the fact he's so willing to throw so many of them 'under the bus'.

But not impossible if they now go all in on Jose.

Wouldn't be the first time they left their 'principles' at the door.

I look it another way, Jose knows this season is shit or bust, as do United's board.

Might as well splash the cash and leave the next guy with less of a rebuild if it doesn't gel next season.

They will get their money back on Pogba and Martial in todays markets.

Look at the ages though - Alderweireld 29 - Bale soon to be -

You'd need to be a magician not to fail the Prem FFP rules, Bales wages alone would take them over the 7m capped increase. I know they can factor in match day and commercial revenue increases, plus player trading (although that would be a huge negative).

I'll ask again, if Silva dictates the game what the hell has KDB been doing from deep since November? Why has he sacrificed going forward to sit alongside Dinho? Don't chat shit about Silva dictating games this season relative to KDB. Neither is KDB our top scorer so I've got no clue why you think I only include goal scorers around whom teams are built. Obviously I don't, since I'm EXPLICITLY claiming our team is built around KDB, a MF?

And stop trivializing the Xavi/Iniesta bit. Barcelona were struggling for years until Ronaldinho came into the team. Xavi and Iniesta were already at the club but the club was still trophyless until they finally got the kick from Ronaldinho who they built the team around. In fact, the club was trophyless for 2 whole years until Pep came in and built the team around Messi. The club already had most of the players that Pep used to win the treble in his first damn season? Why didn't they win before him? Bloody massive coincidence that removing Ronaldinho to center the game around Messi changed their fortunes.

Honest question, did you know much about Barcelona until Pep became City manager?

It's all nice and well to get a kick out of "Oh our team is a sum of XI parts and it's all a team effort with bonding and communion etc." but practically every team which dominates for more than one season has 1 at best 2 players around whom the team is built.

Hahahaha!

I’m guessing you’re a wicked FIFA player and it’s got your confidence up?

Xavi and Iniesta are rightly considered two of the best midfielders of all time. They played in teams with incredible players like Ronaldinho and Messi. But don’t disrespect them and say they just played in teams “built around” Ronaldinho and Messi. That’s a fundamental misunderstanding of the game. Go back and do your research, lad.

DeBruyne dropped deeper to give us extra security. He’s also far better with space in front of him. Space to run in to and space to exploit witt his early passes. He’s not so good in tight spaces where subtlety of touch and movement are the most important thing. That’s why Silva plays higher up, he’s the best player in the league in tight spaces.

Look, Pep himself says Silva dictates our tempo. If you don’t understand, just watch and learn more. Don’t be so ignorant to think you FIFA games and Match Attax apply to real life.

I hope the Rags spunk an absolute fortune on him.

United will spend loads of money this summer. They will buy (some) quality. They will probably close the gap to us. Better that they invest in an older injury prone "Galatico" than a bright young thing that will be there for ten years.

Leroy Sane should be coming into his prime when Gareth Bale is heading for the glue factory.
Undoubtedly got talent, his goal was one of the best ever, best overhead I've ever seen. Bale is the ready made type of player that united fans crave for. But everyone knows he's injury prone, and coming back to the tackle crunching hustle and bustle of the premier league will probably have him on the treatment table more than the pitch.

I thought TR7's bicycle kick vs Juve was better.
