It's wrong but I think a lot of people think Gareth Barry and see Oezil leaving him for dead at the World Cup. Unfair, but other fans just don't watch enough of City to understand how important he is, what he does is unlikely to make the MOTD highlights.
In stark contrast to Adam Johnson, whose goals will make the highlights but his arse scratching won't. So, every fucker and his dog are of the opinion that AJ is massively underused by Mancini.
I suppose every club will have these players though.

Definitely undervalued and underated. Though plenty of Blues took time to be convinced. Mate who sits on other side of the stadium to me said this guy behind him who regularly shouted, 'You fat twat, Barry,' suddenly switched part of the way through last season to, 'Great stuff, Gareth, well done!' causing most of the rows in front of him to turn round in amazement.

This ^^^^ there wasn't one player from the England team in South Africa who came home with any credit, including the golden generation of 'Lamps', 'Stevie G' etc etc and of course Shrek too.
Yet that one incident by Barry sticks in peoples minds whilst the others get immunity from criticism

This is so true. All my Arsenal buddies are scared shitless of A.J and celebrate when we don't start him against them. Yet they think Barry makes our 11 based on English quota.
