Didn't do much today.Was ineffective the entire match.

Very unfair.

Typical of some though. Barry does tend to get criticised by some when we lose whether he has had a good game or not.I thought he had a decent game yesterday.

Next best thing to DeJong and he should be on the team sheet every week. His anticipation and covering are vital when you have a lazy arrogant guy like Yaya next to you. If Barry gets exposed it is because he is having to cover all too often for number 42.

The thing with Barry is that he already sets such a low standard that people think sometimes he plays good when he is totally average.He didn't protect the defense,couldn't cope with Uniteds pace.I'm not saying he doesn't try or anything like that it's just that some games are beyond him.Hopefully Rodwell gets back from Injury soon.

If only he was a fair bit more pacey and could provide valuable solutions up-front, then he would undoubtly be much more praised.
He does the dirty job, and does it often well : closing opposing attacks, tracking back, keeping Yaya/Silva/Nasri fed with balls.

But when he has an "off-day", he just seems shite : out-paced, unable to read opponent's attacks, lost in the pitch, miss-placed passes and horrid first touches ...

I feel Barry's effectiveness as a defensive midfielder is still at a level which is enough to see us through most games, even though his fitness is now questionable. My main concern with Barry is his continuing inability to track, work and really put in a 90 minute performance of determination, similai to NDJ two seasons ago.

All too often he loses his man and is at an age now where he simply doesn't have the legs to keep up with the likes of fast paced tricky midfielders e.g Cleverely or Mata Despite this, we can't look past the has work he has done for city in the time he has been here and is still a great squad player to have in our team.

Barry has been good for the past couple of seasons, but unfortunately he's only getting slower now. Don't think I'd start him as much as last season.
