Well they might mean nothing to you, pal, but to me they show a man out of his depth. A man with no real understanding of the game.

But hey, he goes for a beer with the blues at the Euro aways, doesn't he?

What a guy.
He was a bit green in his early days in the job, he's admitted that, and since taken the club forward immensely.

Do we really want to be another Newcastle? Not wanting people involved unless they're hardcore fans, masses of unemployed chav supporters outside the ground clapping their shoes, completely backward thinking?

Is Cook good at his job? Yes. End of story.

To be honest who really gives a flying Fcuk about a slip of the tongue, this thread has confirmed to me that there are some City fans who hate the Rags more than they love City!

It's about time some City fans ended their obsession with the Rags! I don't care what happens to them or what they win or lose I care about City the club I have supported all these years
totally agree!!

There's a few for you.
None of those things meant shit. Grow up.

Yes they fucking did! The Premier League comment (no relegation) after he had been in the job two minutes was toe curling and so was the handling of the Kaka affair.

Re: End of Gary Cook

Just got back from the do.... and i see the new has travelled.

I am pretty annoyed by the event. He wasnt Drinking, and nobody has any idea where it came from. Yes its a slip of the tongue but..

..he made NO attempt to hide to cover it. He said "... now welcome Uwe Rosler into the Manchester United Hall of Fame" Stuttered a bit and then gave the award. Rosler spoke for a while then it came back to Cook who closed his speach very quickly to a chorus of boos.

Now, he had two options. One he laughs and says only kidding and corrects himself as it happens. Or after the 10 mins Rosler was on the mic he gets up and apologises for his gaff and we all move on.

He did neither. Idiot. He sat at the top table then for a while and took some flack, and then left. The Gaff pretty much runined the high, focal point of the night. The Room went silent. And he definatly should of addressed it in some way. Considering the entire ELT (Executive Leadership Team), Simon Pearce (name check) who runs all the Sheihks business in Europe and some of the country press top brass were there. He should of said something.

In his speech he had banged on about how the club had been getting bad press and how much it hurt him. He gave the rhetoric on how we are progressing and how we are moving forward. He tried to paint himself not as a leader but as one of us and then pissed all over it.

Lets not forget that this is the man who told fans at the BBQ in Abu Dhabi, "We are not the Manchester Club". He is a fool and he needs to come forwards and address this incident.

Derogatory comments about Hughes in a broadsheet ("he likes to work in his comfort zone but we're educating him")
This gaffe

Nope.

Those are things he's said wrong. Maybe someone should stop him from speaking in these situations.

Name actual things he's done wrong. What mistakes has he made?

He's got us a new site, made the club far more accessable to fans than ever before, approved a free party at the stadium (Can you imagine Franny Lee organising this kind of thing), signed all of our major targets bar 2 (one of which was very unlikely anyway), taken fans opinions on board, sorted fans out personally who have had rpoblems.

But he's said the wrong thinsg a few times, so you want rid? Stop being a baby.

I'm glad you've admitted to his earlier faux-pas's

This man is in the top job at a football club with ambitions to wim the Champions League. Yet he has no experience of football at all. Think about that.

Think about it again. It's like getting Nigella Lawson and putting her in charge of Natwest

Re: End of Gary Cook

sooo....does this mean we're gonna have 4 factions..?

the Hughes in cook in crew
Hughes in cook out
Hughes out cook in
Hughes out cook out.....

Jesus...!

Re: End of Gary Cook

Im with DD on this , we shouldnt have a marketing man with no experience of football running the club...His gaffes have been cringeworthy and to be honest his sycophantic nature with Bluemoon and fans in general is so reminiscent of that Buffoon Ashley at Newcastle , lets get the fans onside and im laughing .................He was brought in by the previous regime and i would personally ease him out of the spotlight , let him drive forward our marketing plans by all means but bring in a Top experienced Chief Exec .................David Dein for example ...

Don't give the slightest shit about a slip-up.

Doing a good job this morning, messed up, should've laughed it off, the guy's right, didn't. So what. The world keeps turning, and he's still a great asset to the club.

Asset??? Have you just read the same first-hand report as me? Liability more like.

Given the general reactionary nature of most on here, do they deserve better? It's a forum, and one whose membership general prides itself on OTT sensationalist reactions. To City this forum is just a set of customers, nothing more, same with any other. Isn't it refreshing that the club are at least taking an interest despite that?
