Gary Cook will not take any questions

Have to admit that was poor....really!! Garry Cook should of been doing that press conference alone, there was absolutely no need for Mancini to be there and he was consequently put in a tough position...It looked to me that Cook took the pressure off himself and threw it onto Mancini and it became a shambles. I for one would of prefered to listen to Mancini after the Stoke game and not having to answer questions regarding the firing process of Hughes. That was Cooks job!! As I suspected Mancini does not have a command of the English language as do a few Prem Managers so to put him in that position answering to the debacle of the last 48 hours is beyond me!! Cook as CEO should not be hiding behind statements, if that is the case then our Chairman should be answering the inevitable tough questions this weekend provided.

Very poor conference!!

Why should he turn it into a conference about Hughes ? He made a statement and if the journalists don't like it or don't have enough ammunition for another article slagging City about Hughes then it's tough shit as far as Im concerned.

Absolute rubbish. No one has the right to any answer at all relating to the sacking of Hughes. The owner owns the club outright, and if he wanted to sack Hughes for any reason, in any way then it is up to him.

It was a new manager press conference that was attempted to be hijacked by enemies of our club - the fact that some so called City fans are cockahoop over what happened says it all about them - ie take off the 'ahoop' part of cockahoop and you have an accurate description of them.

He wouldn't take any questions because, firstly, quite apart from the notion that the press are out to crucify, there were a lot of folk in that room who, intellectually, could buy and sell Garry Cook, and secondly, if any of the questions I would like to ask, had been uttered, it would have been extremely embarrassing watching him going for an Olympic gold in verbal gymnastics.

It would suit a lot of people for the proverbial line to be drawn and 'move on'! I much prefer taking a shovel and doing a spot of digging.

This press conference was always going to be about the sacking of Hughes. The statement issued Saturday just did not cut it, people, City fans including me wanna know what went on. Cook was dreadful, and whether or not he decided a statement would suffice he clearly got it wrong and looked a dick. Mancini did not deserve that and consequently came over unknowledgable regarding the hierachy at the club....who is the other guy he talked to? He mentioned someone else besides khaldoon....Who? The other guy?

Yes Cook has to answer to the events of the last 72 hours, not least to the +44,000 there on Saturday!!

Hughes statement had clarity, sadly ours on Saturday did not as was misleading. I for one believe Hughes....As for today...disgrace!1

So have a press conference to introduce the new manager but he shouldn't have been there????

Did you not hear what Cooke said at the beginning? Cooke made the statement to try and put to bed the absolute lies and rubbish that has been put out in the last few days.

1) They started looking after the Hull game to check out the options, Khaldoon met Roberto for a general chat IMHO he was checking out to see what his philosophy on football is

2) They decide after the Spurs debacle that he had to go and because the homework was done they knew the direction they wanted to move in so they could act fast.

3) They agreed with Roberto n Friday and decide to tell Hughes after the game this was in the best interest of Manchester City and also gave Khaldoon the opportunity to tell Hughes to his face despite having to spend 16 hours in total in an aeroplane.

4) Despite best efforts the situation was leaked and Hughes became aware, this was unfortunate but things happen

IMHO I believe that the Owner, Board and Management team have acted in the best interests of City and tried their best to handle the situation with dignity
