Gary James interviewing Noel Gallagher about City

Enjoyed that. I always say when people accuse Noel of being a hanger on etc, that he had a season ticket near me in the Platt Lane and attended every game.

His job, like many other people's, mean he can't get to every game now and his job also now means, invariably, that he gets to know players, managers and they become friends and he gets invites to games. Think it's a bit of jealousy actually with some.

I also think he is still a knowledgeable and passionate blue and a good ambassador for City.

Never understand the amount of dissing Noel gets. He's clearly a very knowledgeable fan and I'm sure I read somewhere he did every game home and away in 83/84 or 84/85.

Personally think he's a very good spokesperson for City fans, although I'm sure others would rather have Dave Wallace or Kevin Parker taking that mantle.
Pure jealousy
just because he now gets access others don’t!
Pretty sure he’s earned his stripes like so many in here

A hint of blue-tinted specs there - I can remember plenty of booing - Blackburn away in the FA Cup comes to mind, got very nasty that day. Allan Ball got a lot of stick - as did Frank Clarke's side - very different mood through that period from previous relegation's.

However, good memories of going to away matches in the hope that we would be there the day we finally won away. I was with him at Shrewsbury, and managed to be at Bradford, that was a great night and I think gave us the confidence the following year that we could get the result that was needed for promotion. And there was a certain stoicism about the situations we found ourselves in. I do wonder how we will eventually deal with no longer being the very best, can we return to the pack with good grace?

Noel supported City when he was a unknown and like many of us stood by the team through the dark days , he isnt a celebrity fan like the Rags have , southerners , cockneys , irish tagging on to a team thye have no affiliation with just because they are a "massive" club that won things
Noels made a few bob is now on first name terms with many of the movers and shakers at City , so f*cking what ? we would all do the same given the chance, along with Liam they are loyal blues and everytime they get air time or are in the media taking the piss out of the Rags or Dippers all the better.
Oasis and their songs will always be associated with our supporter base , like it or not , as for them being termed as hangers on , Dont Look Back In Anger :)

Can I Listen to this on the old fire stick? What app would I need to download? Apologies for being a bit of a tec dinosaur.
Just click the link in the original post and go to the audio file, that’s the bit under where it says, “Anyway, here’s part one”. Click on the triangle. As long as you have a speaker in your device you should not need anything else.

That night in Bradford when we won our first away game for ages was incredible. I remember the floodlights failing just before kick off too and thinking we’re never going to get the chance to end the hoodoo.

Part 2 of my Noel Gallagher interview is now live. We discuss frustrating cup runs, the day the takeover happened in 2008, Garry Cook and both of us (separately) meeting Khaldoon for the first time.

Enjoy! Part 3 tomorrow.
