Just had my gas bill in my new home and its £255.40 FFS for a quarter, IT THIS NORMAL??

Is it an estimate or a reading. If it's an estimate send in a reading from your meter. I've had them that much but refuse to go on monthly as they are all incompetent at working the amounts out. Energy prices are mad.

Same here, if your with british gas, go to there website and change to
the new web based deal they are doing. Paperless billing etc.
Apparently the best deal out there at the mo.

how often do you get your meter read? we were on estimates for about 2 years and got a hell of a shock when they finally sent us a bill based on a reading

Dont feel to bad....................£502 mine....and thats a reading......The lad was home for 6 weeks over christmas and newyear. He is working in China teaching english. Spent most of his time lay on his bed logged onto the internet, on here and talking to his mates on MSN. The heating must have been on 20 hours a day.I 've got 6 months to save up for when he comes home for two weeks in June.He also got through about 6 cases of Magners while he was here as well

and dont get me started on having to pay for his tickets for the WBA, Everton,Hull and Blackburn away. And the missus treating us both to the Mancunian restaurant for the Forest game
