Not me. Anything that has to get hot quickly will use more power. I know how toasters work, and kettles, and irons. I need them all though, to work at the times I need them to. A smart meter alters nothing about that, apart from being a visible representation of it.After dismantling all my aquariums, it will surprise nobody that my weekly usage has fallen substantially but anybody else with a smart meter gets pissed off that the light goes orange when you put the toaster on, seriously how much power does it take to heat a mm thin bit of wire.
I'll tell the Mrs, though why you're still banging on about smart meters is anybody's guess lolNot me. Anything that has to get hot quickly will use more power. He does have a point to be fair. No one knows why you keep mentioning smart meters and making a big deal out of them when no one is discussing them.Dont get her started. Not your mrs, the other moaning argumentative got be right twat

Mean, median or modal? The word doing the heavy lifting is 'average'.
Mode isn’t it?Mean, median or modal?
Blimey, how big was the mortgage in the first place?Had my final pricing from 1st October today, and more than pleasantly surprised to be honest. Yes, an increase but in the scheme of things reasonably affordable. However if the interest rates get anywhere the forecast 6% rate, then like many others, I will be fooked with my mortgage repayments. This is coming from someone whom has had the same mortgages for 22 years and now only owes 120K, so God help the many younger people that have not long taken out say a 250k or more mortgage!
Was just going to ask the same thing!Blimey, how big was the mortgage in the first place?
Maybe it’s interest only ;)Was just going to ask the same thing!
I was thinking that when the poster said "mortgages" they meant a few properties. Looking at the username, Robbie Fowler perhaps? Was just going to ask the same thing!
Helps that we’ve just had the hottest Summer we’ve ever seen where most of us should be in credit with our energy company, as we’ve not had the heating on for about 7 months, so that’s helped them amend the monthly fee down to help us out. Plus the govt £66/month.Bulb have just put our direct debit down by 40 quid a month. Go figure.
Probably the 400 quid relief payment thing until March.
Combined with locking down a new mortgage deal literally the day before the economy went to shit we’re about £150 a month better off than we were a few weeks ago.
Funny old world.
