Not sure adding 20p onto a pint is going to cover their new bills.
Did you see the one in Leicester for a little shop, standing charge was something like £5.42 a day.

Slightly off topic, but is seeing a GP, in the same room still an option??? Seems almost impossible to see mine, it's all photos or quick telephone chats in my experience. Is this because you think privatising the rail and energy sectors has so much of a success?
NHS Next? Charge people a grand to see a GP?
No, you’re right, I’m grasping at straws - its hard to say, but, our involvement in Ukraine can't not go on forever - If it does we can see horrific knock on effects - 80% pubs and restaurants to close - its a real 'dig-in’ war like effort we need here - but our society is bloated and selfish, and hasn’t the stomach for it - some SERIOUS waking up to do - this forum is a reflection to that...It's all about me, but thats the world we live in, well did.

Don’t know mate, never got passed being triaged by the ‘receptionist’…..Slightly off topic, but is seeing a GP, in the same room still an option??? Seems almost impossible to see mine, it's all photos or quick telephone chats in my experience.
Its because of the P-wordNever understood the hate for public sector, why would you want them underpaid? It's bizarre.
No, and I’ve never understood the naivety of public sector employees when it comes to ‘understanding’ just where their money comes from, but hey ho, we're all stupid here, aren’t we.
Hello, gas and electricity thread
Looking at what many businesses are facing, pubs will need to stick their prices up to £25+ a pint, and no-one is paying that. If you think the energy price rises so far have been bad, then it pales into insignificance compared to what's round the corner. Price caps not applying to businesses is going to fucking destroy many of them, particularly smaller businesses and those in the hospitality sector where many of them basically survive hand to mouth. So businesses are now demanding a price cap as well. Have they not been imposing cost price increases on the consumer since January to cover their margins and cost of energy? As a consumer on fixed salaries, we can't exactly implement CPIs to cover our spiralling costs. Businesses had enough help during Covid.
I'm sure pubs charging £6 a pint will help with their energy bills
