@kaz7 You need to look into this. The winters and being cold like you describe wont be good for you and it will fuck the living environment up. Houses need to be kept warm or they get issues that you being in a blanket wont fix. You'll have damp and stuff and that will make you poorly and will create issues that will need more money to fix than the heating cost even a couple of hours a day.
Awful we have to think like this. We are being ripped off to fuck. I know the cost of fuel has gone right up but this is ridiculous with the cost per month now. Take the shareholders out and lets have a nationalised energy industry for the wider good
I can confirm this
I did it last autumn and winter.
I felt shit, always cold, until I spent most of the evening and night in bed because I've got an electric blanket.
My curtains in the front room had mold on them. I had to wash them to remove the mold
There was damp and mold in other parts of the house.
There was mold on my furniture, my TV stand, etc.
Some of my clothes hung in the wardrobe had mold on them. I had to wash the clothes.
I bought an oil heater for the living room.
It blew my plug socket.
I decided not to do it again this Winter.
It's not worth the risk to my health.
It was self inflicted trying to save money, but I now know what fuel poverty is like.
I honestly feel sorry to people who can't afford to heat their house or flat, and have to choose between food and heating.
Turn your heating on Kaz, even if it's only for a few hours every day to take the cold and damp out of your house or flat.
