Little bit of positive news re the energy price cap. After a slight increase in Jan 24 to £1928 the cap is now expected to fall to around £1660 in April 24 followed by another fall to £1590.
Whilst these are still well above the levels back in the early part of 2021 the general downward trend is expected over the next few years.

The gas futures markets are also significantly down, so fingers crossed this should hopefully bring back some much needed competition to the energy markets.

Absolutely and there is currently an ongoing consultation. Nobody is going to wake up in 2025 and find themselves £1000 better off. But more stable energy prices should improve competition.
