Gas & Electricity

Well after a month on Agile we’ve saved about £16 in electricity compared to the current fixed 15 month deal, might not seem much but over a year it’s going to be about £150 (Xmas will cost a bit with lights etc) I’m quite surprised tbh, even the wife has got onboard when to put washer on etc.

A good saving mate. We managed to get our half hourly readings on the app resolved by a wonderful dept that kept us fully informed throughout. They even handed back credit as an apology, and a company that never stop giving.

We are not finding it an ordeal in keeping an eye on the half hourly tarrifs, as in general the only times to be avoided are 16:00 to 19:00 were they are hitting figures in excess of normal tarrifs. Did some washing this arfo and it was only around the 13p 14p mark so acceptable.

Looking forward to more plunge pricing but am resoved to the fact prices are climbing as we move into winter months.

Ye as long as they are under 25p fixed rate it’s a winner, wife returns from holiday tonight so a load of washing for the early ours at 2p will be done. Ye winter will be interesting to see, maybe get some candles out ;j

I've just turned my heating on.

A thick coat, a wool jumper, and a possum fur and merino wool beanie. :-)

It has been a couple of chilly nites but way too soon to put the heating on , my boiler has been turned off for a while , need to get it going again

I fixed my gas and electricity tariffs a few weeks ago.

A 10% domestic gas and electricity price rise has taken effect as debate continues over the withdrawal of additional support.

A household in England, Wales and Scotland using a typical amount of gas and electricity will pay £1,717 a year from now, a rise to the annual bill of £149.

When Spring arrives next year, and gas and electricity prices drop again, and the day light hours become lighter, and it gets warmer, I will move over to Agile for 6 months.

I relented a few nights ago and put my fire on low for a few hours at night. It's unseasonably chilly for September though we have now just moved into October.

At the moment I'm in a nice cozy newish apartment and it's warm most of the time without the heating on. However, I'm buying a 1890s end cottage soon and I fear my monthly 70 quid gas n leccy bills will double :(

Martin lewis says everyone who can needs to get off the standard price cap tariff onto a fix for a year, cheaper than standard tariff , or one of the tracker tariffs . Some dont need you to have a smart meter , annoyingly edf does even though they are one of the worst for meters broken and not working or sending incorrect readings . He says get on a whole of market comparison site
