Am I buying Disneyland Paris too???? Faaaaarrrrkkkkk noooooooo
Pretty sure mine is wrong. 3 bed house with two kids who have all the gadgets that are constantly on charge. £55 a month for gas and electric. I constant provide meter readings and the app says they have been read by British Gas as well.
So I’m happy enough even though it can’t be right.
eeeee.... you meter tampering scallywag you - I'd keep quiet tbh lol
Must be faulty or summat but I’m happy it is.
The thing that really annoys me is they say "change your supplier to make savings" so you fuck about to save £20/£30 a year............... however do the same fucking about over car and house insurance and you can save multiples of that figure at a stroke. The reason being is that despite what we are told insurance operates in a competitive market and utilities don't - same with rail fares.
My parents were about to have their bill increased to £135 per month with BG about four years ago when I asked them what they were paying.
I changed them to the best fix I could find them at the time which was, and still is £80 per month and runs out in June.
Its saved them over £2500 over the term of the fix.
You can save lots of money once you start taking an interest and your first change is often the biggest saving whether it is Utilities or Insurance.
You certainly cant save big money year on year on insurance or utilities whatever you suggest. Once you have found the right insurance deal for you then you will not save big money year on year.
I've changed utility providers a few times and it has always been genuinely a small sum each time. I live in a low risk area so I can always get £50+ off car insurance ( 2 cars in the household) and the same on house insurance when the renewal quote is received - I had insurance tied to my mortgage once - as soon I was able at renewal I ditched it - identical cover went from @ £120 pm ( Zurich ) to @ £130 pa ( Sheila's Wheels I think )
I'm not sure how the £50 saving is that much better than the £30 you quoted for fuel saving which you said was a waste of time. In your original post you said you could save multiples of the £30 fuel saving at a stroke on insurance, not just £50.
Looking to switch, anyone with/had any dealings with "bulb"?
No but I'm also looking to switch, Bulb comes out best for comparison and reviews are decent. Been with Green Star for 12mths and never spoke with them, so I'm not too sure where customer service comes into it with power suppliers, it's all about price for me. Thought I would give Green Star a call tomorrow to see if they can dissuade me from switching companies, saves any hassle if they can price-match.
two cars - £50 each renewal = £100 + £50 min saving off home insurance by shopping round at renewal - thats 5 x the £30 saving I made on new utilities provider. Its just maths.
Christ, I wish I had some of you guys bills - my dual fuel is £170 per month. Old house and washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, lights, kids shit on all bastard day, lol.
Use moneysavingexpert every year and go with the best big name fixed rate.
Regularly, it’s exactly what my late father used to utter all the time, lol.Do you ever shout, "it's like bloody Blackpool illuminations in here" ?
