Gas & Electricity

And then 8 mins corrected himself, quite few hours before your posts as well :)

Otherwise I would have guessed the budget included sniffing cocaine off escorts' pussies.
No you're wrong I quoted his post 49 minutes ago and he said "A day" ....so how do you get hours before ?

You are, how could he have corrected it hours ago when I quoted it not so long ago ?

Because he corrected it with a subsequent post but didn't edit the original.

As you can see by clicking on the quoted post (above).

And if you don't understand now you are either playing dumb or need to start looking into open days of supported retirement villages.

Ah well should've edited the original post.
No idea why I'm arguing about this.
I'm obviously right as usual... unless I'm arguing with @Blue Mist
In that case I let him win as he gets quite cantankerous and his blood pressure gets high.

Our deal ends in a few weeks so we have to face the increases now. British gas want to lock us in at £270 per month, which would be a rise of 65% compared to what we pay now.

I've just got the fleeces out for the family and we'll be washing up once a day only from now on. Debating if I can give up my daily shower and just accept that I can stink to high heaven on days I'm working from home. Planning on re introducing board game night and binning Disney plus, they kids will love me when they haven't seen the latest princess movie but know which way a knight can move in chess. It may also be time to consider selling my half arsed retro video games collection which I'd be gutted about but it's just stuff at the end of the day.

My wage certainly isn't about to go up anything like that, in fact they're nabbing more of it for national insurance so the solution for us may be just don't use gas or electricity if we don't have to.

Plus my work are late again paying my claimed expenses, and I refuse to dip into my own pocket whilst they figure it out. Seems the wheels are coming off most things nowadays.

So out of interest.

what was everyone paying before. And how much will you be paying now ?

Mines gone from £72 to £170

We are a family of 4 and have very little money. We're on pay as you go and I can see from the app we're now spending between 4-5 pound a day on gas and about 2.50 a day on electric. That's about £200 a month.

I've told the other half that she'll have to cut down to only using the washing machine once a day and to mix boiling water from the kettle with cold water and wash up in a basin and she went mad.

I'm hoping that with summer around the corner, the gas bill will reduce quite a bit.
I was freezing all through the night but both babies were having a sleepover elsewhere so I refuse to put the heating on.

I suppose it doesn't help that city are charging £60 for 1st leg knock out games and we've spent £550 already for 2 of us to go to madrid next week for 3 nights and then going Wembley on the Saturday.

Since moving to WFH I already had an initial shock from my previous bills. Winter months were particularly expensive and the last two Januarys I've been over £200 in combined gas + electric. Decided to dust back out the smart meter and start paying attention to what I'm doing now. Hoping I can absorb a lot of the increase with just better habits.

Only 2 of us in our house but on our usage I'm predicting about £70 to £130pm. Not terrible but definitely unwanted whilst everything else is going up. It seems like its going to be more or less double for everyone.

I'm waiting for the water board to put up their rates next because of the price of all that imported Russian water.....

worlds gone mad,,i coverd for a driver who works for a chinese takeaway last night and people switching the lights off to save now come to the door with their phone torch on to pay for a £30+ meal

Why is that mad? People are going to really struggle this year. So much so that takeaways may become less frequent!
