Gas & Electricity

If it wasn't for Octopus buying out all those failed suppliers Govt would be in shit street and having to Nationilse the industry. Octopus used data and tech to change the game. Makes British Gas look like dinosaurs.
The last time I looked BG were cheaper than Octopus. If the energy industry needs to be renationalised, bring it on.

Vulture capitalist BG, who recently fired and rehired their engineers on shittier contracts?

They sound nice.

At least Octopus have tried to minimise the cost to the consumer during the last energy crisis.

They’re not perfect by any stretch, but if you’re simply picking the lowest rate and not looking into companies, then it’s a race to the bottom.

If the government does have to renationalise energy, which areas of funding are you willing to cut to pay for it?

IMF saying the uk is going to be hit the hardest with this war in Iran, best get the blankets out for winter prices are going to sky rocket in July nevermind October.

A few weeks ago, I received an email from my energy supplier, Eon. They were sorry for me to be leaving. Strange considering I'd only a couple of months ago signed into a 14mnth contract. A few days later I received an updated bill that left me in credit and appeared ongoing with no termination of contract. I decided to leave things be for a while.
Days later, after finding it difficult to log into my app, which I could only activate by changing my password. Lo and behold, there had been a £100 termination fee added to my existing bill. After contacting Eon in autumnal South Africa, they advised me I had requested a transfer of my energy supply to Utility Warehouse. That was a new one on me !
After a long conversation it was decided this was an erroneous transaction. They suggested I contact Utility warehouse. After a pleasant conversation with their customer service dept, also in South Africa, they were in agreement of this erroneous transaction. It's taken a couple of weeks for supply resumption by Eon. Albeit atm on another plan.

So dilemma time my fixed rate is ending 1st July 26 do I change to a 12 month tracker or fix for 2 years which includes a exit fee of 300 quid for dual fuel.

Don’t forget you can switch about a month before contract ends penalty free may well be worth going a bit early before price cap rises. Unfortunately I am October will see what’s happening then.

Well it’s going up again, thanks Trump, I’ve jumped on a fixed gas deal with octopus for 12 months have a feeling that’s the one that will sky rocket in winter and even if there’s a deal soon in Iran the knock on will be for a long time.
