Gate for Hull

The Mirror had an 'article' up mocking the crowd this morning. It's since been taken down, probably because it was pointed out that it was full of factual inaccuracies.

My first post in 3 years or so due to me forgetting my password and not bothering to reset it but funny enough was just looking through my last post and the same arguement was going on 3 years ago about liverpool and the semi final. £18 was a fair price last night, cant believe people expect less. City arent a charity, you would pay more to watch 2 local league sides. City try to be fair with their pricing in my view and try to make these cups games as cheap as possible (kids for £1 etc). The people who want to go will go and like other posts have said 38000+ is a very good crowd.
You missing the point £18 might or might not have been a fair price but on top of the ticket price for the Southampton game 3 days earlier it works out a dear do for families of couples

Although the prices were reasonable, they could have made it even cheaper.

Why not £10 adults and £1 under 21, and just forego these sorts of games as profit-making ones? Getting the place full should be the main aim.

Out of interest what were the attendances at the other quarter finals last night, was ours still the highest?

Unless I'm misundestanding you, Wilf, I don't think you're right. My mate joined the cup scheme in 2011 just before the Reading Q Final. I'm sure just a week later he was bang at the head of the queue despite having attended just one game.

He will have been for the semi final. If I remember correctly I had about 4,500 points at the time but I was a cup scheme member. The first day sales were for people with over 6,000 points (regardless of whether they were a cup scheme member or not) and any cup scheme member. I got seats on the first day. For the final loyalty points had first priority over the cup scheme, which was the last time they did. I managed to get a ticket for that on the third day if I remember correctly. Not surprisingly the club subsequently made the cup scheme the priority to get people to join. Also not surprisingly cup attendances went up!

Another thing to take into consideration is for people who don't drive night games are a nightmare [ no pun intended!] After 6pm buses are one an hour if you are lucky. Once you are near a metrolink hub you are on the way but first you have to get there. My last local bus from Altrincham to where i live is now 22:20. There is no way i can get from the ground and catch that unless i leave a good 20-30 minutes early and if i do that there is no point in going. So i have to pay a minimum £6 extra for a cab to get home or i walk another 30-40 minutes minimum in usually cold and shitty weather and run the risk of encountering some gang of loons loitering about wanting to mug you or beat the shit out of you for kicks.

Not too sure the kids have to be up for school the next day is valid most kids these days seem to be up as late as their parents!
It was the opposition. Had it been the rags then the ground would have been full.

No complaints from me. I was home before 10. And I stayed till the end.

On Saturday, the journey took 40 minutes longer.
