Council allow ? Really? a gate onto a main road, it's not a ginnell.
Suppose it begs the question, if it’s a public pathway, why would it have a gate fitted in the first place?

All the gates were locked happened for the derby I asked the Police and they said the club did it. Baffling as to why it happened last night
Possibly because off the later kick off time I’d guess.

All the routes to the Townley were covered by GMP. The MIB’s were trying to get to the Townley before the match. The MIB’s met up in 7 Brothers in Ancoats and made their way to the Townley trying to get to the City fans. GMP had the MIB’s under surveillance and followed them. I’ve got a few pictures of a small group of MIB’s corralled against a metal fence opposite the Tesla garage, not far from the ginnel. The previous season the MIB’s got to the Townley via the ginnel and it kicked off. GMP weren’t going to make the same mistake again and let the MIB’s get to the Townley again.
Why the gate is getting closed now is anyone’s guess. Maybe it’s to do with the new parking restrictions? The local councillor will know why the gate is being closed.

The stadium was opened for the Commonwealth Games in 2002. 2024-2002 = 22
