Gender Neutral language

Isn't this just a variation of the theme or theory that gender isn't biological but is a social construct, and which now gets trotted out as fact to suit certain groups?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_construction_of_gender
A theory which to date has not been defended by any serious or respected scientific institution in the world? Yeah, that's the one they advocate.

Trans people exist, they are valid transmen and transwomen in my view. People are free to feel how they wish, call themselves what they wish. So long as it does not involve projecting themselves and their views on others or causing others harm, I see no issues with someone wishing to call themselves Xe, Xim or Xer... but the belief that we should all be reprimanded for 'accidentally' calling a transperson a 'he' or 'she' is going way too far in my opinion.

This 'belief' that gender is a social construct I believe is them getting confused with the concept of being a "gentleman" and a "lady", which are social constructs. There's also the concepts of masculinity and femininity, as there are many males people could consider to be "effiminate" but doesn't mean they are any less of a man. That's why I personally feel people need to get over themselves if they are told they "aren't a man" and deciding to invent a new "gender" for themselves because they don't like to watch football, boxing or other sport, hate pumping iron and are generally opposed to aggressive behaviours typically associated with 'manhood'.

I call this "liberal fascism"

I call this "liberal fascism"
It's definitely not liberal. Liberals, and I mean real liberals, believe in the right of freedom of speech, choice and expression without persecution, so the idea people should be locked up for "wrongthink" or policing speech because someone was 'offended' by it is well against liberal ideology.

These sorts of people who advocate such a policy are far more authoritarian and choose the label "liberal" due to the positive aspects it brings them in the public sphere. "I'm a liberal: I believe people should be arrested and imprisoned for hatespeech!" They give real liberals like myself the bad reputation and perception the term now carries.

Yup, thats about the size of it.
The fascist manifesto contained a line (roughly remembered) " Since fascism is the perfect system of government, there is no need for an opposition"
Labour's 1995 manifesto stated "New labour is the settled will of the British people"
Fascism is, literally, "the politics of power", taking its name from the bundle of sticks (fasces) that were carried around by law enforcers in classical Rome.
The modern liberal fascists just love the power bit.

And to think, Mussolini was once an emphatic Socialist...

I'm glad my people are finally starting to get the recognition we deserve.

I’m a fridge freezer. I can never understand why one individual wants to have a say in what another individual wants to identify with?

I need to go, I have to defrost the freezer section.

I've got some gender neutral language for that twonk... STOP being a CNUT there are plenty of tossers about already, being outraged on behalf of others who don't actually give a flying fuck....!!!!

I'm the biggest 'snowflake' Guardian reading out there but this is bollocks. There are some people like Jamie Lee Curtis who have crossover genitalia and hormones but they must be one in hundred of thousands. 99.9999% of the offended gender militia are attention seeking ****'s.

I'm in your camp on this - millennial, may well be regarded as "snowflake" by some, but all this correct pronoun stuff is ridiculous. "They" is completely non-offensive as a replacement to "he/she". And renaming Male and Females to "cisgendered" is ridiculous - this has all been done by a very very small minority of the attention seeking ****s as you called them.
Luckily I currently work in an environment where this nonsense isn't an issue. Fell bad for the OP's mate who had HR on his back over thought and feelings, because that really is ridiculous!
