Where were the family and friends during the time the bodies were dead? That's such a sad ending. Dying all alone, not surrounded by family and/or friends. I guess that, in a way, it was a blessing (of sorts) that he had Alzheimers and was likely unaware that his wife had passed away. Sorry if that sounds harsh; it is not intended to be interpreted that way.
Unfortunately when you make 95 most of your mates haven't, sad fact of life :-(How awful that for everything he was and all of the tributes paid to him in Hollywood that they didn't have a single visitor to the house in an entire week.
Recluses don’t tend to get many visitors. How awful that for everything he was and all of the tributes paid to him in Hollywood that they didn't have a single visitor to the house in an entire week.

Ridiculous times to be showing them - though good, if like me, you are 4 hours behind the UK!For any fans, BBC are showing the brilliant French Connection on BBC2 at 10pm on Sunday followed by another, The Conversation.

Having read a bit about him he was turned down many many times which suggests he must have had quite a bit of self belief about him.He was. Looking back I think he was very good at playing self confident characters. Wonder if there was a personal reason for that.
He was in the Poseidon Adventure?Have watched the French Connection, Crimson Tide and The Poseidon Adventure in the last week. All brilliant films.
He was a sort of anti hero playing a Reverend. Tried to make his way out leading a few others but perished, whilst bristling at god for allowing it to happen. (I think!)He was in the Poseidon Adventure?
