If you split the country into 10 bands or deciles, going from most deprived to least deprived and then look at life expectancy for women and, probably more importantly, healthy life expectancy, it paints a picture that nobody seems to care about, which seems extraordinary.
As I can’t import graphs into this on my phone I’ll put it in 10 lines from most deprived to least deprived. First number is healthy life expectancy and second number is life expectancy. Also, as I’m not a leader of a political party, I’ll embed the link......
1. 52.0 and 78.7
2. 56.9 and 80.3
3. 58.2 and 81.6
4. 61.9 and 82.5
5. 64.1 and 83.1
6. 65.8 and 83.7
7. 66.9 and 84.2
8. 68.2 and 84.6
9. 68.7 and 85.1
10. 70.4 and 86.2
That’s over 18 years of healthy life expectancy difference between top and bottom.

Keep the wealthy healthy seems to be the motto....
