Genuine sad thing was I walked into work today to be met with a massive foodbank collection ready to be picked up, this shit better change no excuse for it Boris.
Can't see it changing.

In fact it'll probably become a business. Your local food bank...sponsored by JCB.

I hope I'm wrong but I expect that food banks will be normalised over the next 5 years (moreso than they currently are).

He wasn’t either. He was pro Brexit to appeal to those that wanted it over with.

But I’ll never persuade you. I just hope you’ll be pleasantly surprised now he doesn’t have to cater to the DUP with his sizeable majority.

Psychologically the ‘leaving date’ of 31st Jan will be interesting. Will people regard Brexit as done given we will have legally left which was the question posed in the Referendum? Will the years of negotiations become background noise that barely register as little changes? Is our future Switzerland with fish?

The centrist part of the Labour party which so many think would have won had Corbyn not come along, mainly were Remainers. How would that have helped yesterday?

Bingo.

All these "centrists" are diehard remainers. Starmer was nowhere to be seen in this election for that very reason.

LIke I said last night, Brexit and the direction of the country is all Boris' now and he has to own it - though if it goes wrong the media will still blame Labour/the Left.

Anyway, as a centrist/centre left person I'm in the minority in the country - didn't think I was but clear that I am.

I'll leave this thread for the Tory majority. I'm out of the politics section for hopefully 5 years with no more elections.

I suspect it will be regarded so, simply because the media attention will shift elsewhere. The media thrives on binary possibilities, so It’ll be hard to generate interest in the minutia of technocratic negotiations.

Have you seen the price of fish btw?

I wouldn't know.

Just the 10 more years then with that attitude.
