Party labels seem so passé these days, because the supposed leaders of EACH PARTY (UK & US!) seem to be so very different to the historical norms for each side.

The world has moved to the right, with nationalism seeming to be the reflexive response to the destruction caused by the globalism undertaken by major multinationals.

I hope the pendulum starts swinging back soon, but Boris has a 5 yr mandate now, and, if Trump wins in 2020 (Please God NO!), they will be running our respective countries until 2024. Think about that for a moment, and the destruction they can bring upon their countries in that time. Scary.

What is weird to see is the use of an essentially liberal tool (not many people who work in Silicon Valley are conservatives or Trumpers), such as Social Media as a tool AGAINST the interests of those same liberals.

What destruction has happened in America since 2016?

I utterly detest the left and everything they stand for.

Protesting over a democratic election because it was not the decision they want.

Telling those who voted conservative that any future deaths, homelessness etc is on them.

The far left are worse than the far right and that is saying something.

Politics has just become one long Boca Juniors v River Plate game.

I suggest you read your post - "I utterly detest the left and everything they stand for." You sound like the ball boy at the very game you hate so much.

David Doel's opinion...

We always get the handwringing, lessons to be learned, we didn't get our message across schtick after every election from whichever party got an electoral thumping but the clearest message that a politician could receive was sent three years ago and the LibDems and Labs didn't heed it, and the outcome of two-fingering your supporters is that they can replicate the same message!

There is no doubt that this is true and it says everything that is wrong with British politics. He has been smeared endlessly, by a right wing media based offshore and determined to protect their tax avoidance status. Even the great Noam Chomsky described the antisemitic slurs as a creation of the British press. He has been a conviction politician since his earliest days yet is expected to shift with the wind to win votes and pilloried when he stands his ground. We get what we deserve and what we get has been a disaster for a decade.
'Right wing media'
God almighty, just when will you ever get it?

Not according to the current college map.

If Trump wins Florida, Penselvania and most of the rest of Toss up states he will win.
As I said, I think he will, the Democrats are, at present, making exactly the same mistakes as Labour, they're
using exactly the same racist, heartless, idiotic Trump voter, stunts that helped them to lose last time, you can't
win elections with these tactics. Hollywood constantly demonising him will produce the same effect Hughy Grunt, and Luvvie Allen got for their support
over here.
Then throw in swivel eyed lefty 'Free everything' ideologues like Alexandra Occasio Cortez,
and it compounds the problems for them.
Anyway, this isn't about the septics.
