Brexit is my main issue at present and which party will deliver most on the winning majority.

My family has voted Labour since probably the 1930's, it's engrained in my family's ethos. This Labour are the party of the metropolitan middle classes. They're socialites, not socialists. It's also ironic that so many people criticised Cameron and his cabinet when I consider them to be the most 'left wing' Tory cabinet in recent history, yet people still wanted them out. May is moving the Conservatives more to the right and it's resonating with the public. Does it mean a shift in British society? Possibly, but then it's not surprising given the rhetoric from the left in recent years.

I actually do like Theresa May as PM, she seems more of a doer than a procrastinator to me. We need a doer in this period of EU separation not someone who'll drag their feet. If Corbyn was more like his younger self, anti-EU federalism and wanting the UK out of the Common Market, i'd back him, but even he knows that he'd have to face the backlash of what that would mean amongst his own party members. To get back that core Labour working class support he needs to stop pandering to the socialite, new labour, middle class ethic and start recognising and addressing the concerns of the working people of the UK, no matter how 'unethical' and 'racist' it appears to the metropolitan mindset.

Whilst I disagree with your voting intentions I think you have explained the differences between today's Labour Party and that of the Labour Party pre-Blair rather well.

The Blair Labour Party (which this one still is) is basically a Conservative party with a small (ish) 'c'.

Chock full of activists who crave power and have stolen our Labour Party from us in order to achieve power and a job for life and often supported by middle class conservatives who think because they buy a big issue occasionally that this means they care about the homeless. But ask them to pay more in tax to make society fairer and they blanch and start screaming "unelectable".

You only have to look st their reaction to the working class daring to speak up for the first time in decades with the Brexit vote to see how underneath the caring sharing clothe she they are at heart a cleverer branch of the "fuck the poor, I'm alright jack" banker and big business supporting Tory party.

At least many tories are honest about their selfishness and in a strange way that is less dishonourable.

It's strange isn't it. By being forthright about how gittish they will be the Tories are actually being more genuine than Nu-Labour whose message is still clouded amongst the public. I don't fully support or agree, but I appreciate the honesty. With Labour at present I have no idea what direction they are going to take because the party is so divided, not just amongst it's members but it's support. Blair's recent 'return' to politics isn't going to help them clarify how Labour is going to move the nation forward in a post Brexit future or what challenges Labour is going to address.

To use a recent analogy someone made on either this thread or one of the others, are they more Bernie or Hillary? Socialists or Social Justice? I like you want to have Labour address the concerns of working people, as that is the one true ethic that binds the majority of us. At present, despite his best attempts, I don't see Corbyn or his cabinet as being the ones to do that.

Here's to a few more years of unopposed Conservative rule... :/

New Labour to a Tee.

The faux outrage of red Tories in the party when attacked for it is embarrassing. There's no party truly fighting for the left anymore. I like Corbyn and Mays electoral performance is taking the piss out of the electorate and the LP who should be fighting neck and neck, yet the PLP blarites are doing fuck all and will happily wait for another electoral defeat to maintain their careers over the people they represent.

By that time we'll be in perpetual Tory rule.

do people who live in nice houses, have a car and earn a good salary not work? seems "working people" to the left is a rather small subset of the actual broad scope of that term.

Im arrogant??
The times, bbc, thelondoneconomic, scottish herald, unison, royal college of nursing all repoting that nurses are using foodbanks and taking out payday loans and grants to make ends meet but im supposed to listen to a nomark halfwit like you? Ha ha, give it up sonny, your just making noise to be argumentative.
It's 'you're' you imbecile.

Can you please give a link to the BBC quote about nurses using food banks? Again, if any nurse is using a foodbank I'd love to speak to them, as they need money management advice.

As for no-mark halfwit? Deary me, what a fud.

The best Prime Minister ever who saved millions from long-term despotism by sending them to mass graves.
There's a good documentary on Netflix about him. Being fair though, it is by George Galloway, so as fair and balanced as a Michael Moore documentary.

Oh, and he's got a Sliva-esque touch in front of goal.......
