General Predictions - 2023/24

I predict Pep turns Phillips into a right back
It won't happen but thats not a bad idea. Phillips has an engine, gets up and down the field, knows how to do a timely tackle. Good at crossing and passing. Lacks a bit of pace thats the problem.

And Gaurdiola would have taken his ideas from Barcelona. Your not the original owners of possession based football.

I can promise you its all been done before by other clubs and countries.
I think you will find it was him who devised the Barcelona ideas whilst working at the lower levels of that Club. The man is a football genius and a complete one-off.

City will score more goals to the North Stand goal, while the South Stand will see more important ones (memorable bangers and match/tie winners).

City, Liverpool, Spurs, Chelsea, Newcastle, United = top 6 (no particular order)
Luton, Wolves, Forest = relegated.
Gooners will win enough games to be in the top 6 more so than the rags. The question will be whether they can handle the big games ? not that i really give a toss

We will win the Premier League again. Another title race with Liverpool but we will beat them again.

The bottom half off the league looks very weak so we should get more points this season.

Usual slow start
But we win it by a mile, double digit points, we could really splatter the league this year like 2018
Could be the year of Phil Foden unleashed
The second raters below will all be improving, but all killing and taking points off each other head to head
Spurs will also be better than most expect. Great attacking coach and Maddison/Solomon will make them a fun team to watch
The odd lot will regress and miss out on top 4
Not this year, teams have bought well, a couple of new top class coaches. If we do win it think it will depend on a few things, luck with injuries like last year, how we manage Kev, and we need to find another supplier for Erling. Like you say hopefully Foden will have a really good season for us and shine in big games. Also depends on whether Bernie stays. We'd miss his pressing and ball retention in the top games when we need control.

Well it’s safe to say 23/24 won’t be as good as last season.

I can see us falling off and struggling with motivation. Losing Gundo is huge.

On a positive note, I know decent players have left and are in the process of leaving, but look at the quality of the players we still have!

The signings we are making are good ones, and bode well for the next five years at least!

We'll be going for it again this season, make no mistake!

Brighton will struggle more than most think.
Someone will get six or more put past them in one game before October is finished.
City will make a surprising attacking signing.
Arteta will miss at least one game for repeatedly breaking rules around the technical area.
At least ten premier league managers will not be in their positions by 1st February 2024.
We'll make it four in a row.
We will score at least ten goals from corners.
Pep will extend two more years.

And a few easy ones to finish...

United will get a very stuffy decision against us in the Derby, resulting in lots of guffawing and suggesting of retrospective rule changes in the halls of the PGMOL.

We will not be awarded a penalty at old trafford this season, no matter how many times we play there.

Sky sports will continue to become less and less about the actual game, and more and more like a z list celebrity cheerleading competition.

City, Arsenal and Liverpool fighting for the title
Chelsea and Newcastle in the mix for top 4
6th down is anyones :-)
Relegation: Luton, Sheff U and Man U :-)

I can't see arsenal challenging.
Newcastle are gonna be serious this year.
Ten Haag is shite and so are united.
Chelsea may be decent.

Let’s ask the experts…

1 voice for plucky, have-a-go heroes from Norrrf Lahhhndan - all the rest for the Mighty Blues. Spurs and Chelsea nowhere; only Pat Nevin -a crystal glass of football wisdom in a sink full of dirty pots - has the humility to admit to few firm ideas as to how Chelsea will fare.

Too much backing for Arsenal here, I think. Not enough for Liverpool. Way too much for Swamp-Trotters.
