Hahaha - yeah right - after this last weeks events Bart hasnt got a chance of that happening even if it was true (which I highly doubt it)
They were able to sell players to Chinese teams also. Ramirez and Oscar spring to mind. Made a profit on both. I think t they nearly doubled their money on OscarEven the Morata sale is impressive given how bad he performed there.
Jamal Lewis to Newcastle looks done pending a medical. And they'll likely get Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser done this week too by all accounts.
YepWas Lewis the one Liverpool tried to tap up?

I agree, which is why it baffles me Liverpool weren't willing to spend the extra few quid.Thats the one but to be the fair to Newcastle that isn't a bad fee
Not so much, they've been told they can sign as long as they sell, and have to achieve a certain bit financially because they, in short, were FFP'd. Jimenez wants to leave and it would ease wages and same with Doherty, little fee but eases wages to bring in the cheap Portuguese talent via Mendes' help. This kid is rated very highly so can understand the 35m fee, although obviously, paid over 4-5 yearsTake it Wolves will probably sell Jimenez now they've bought this kid for £35m, seems strange they're happily dismantling their side when they're getting closer to the CL spots, guess Mendes is making his return.
To be fair the lad's barely seen first team football and a relegation side asking for more than £10m for that player is a bit unfair, also (kind of makes sense) because the Greek left back they ended up signing has decent experience still and cost about £10m or so as well. The embarrassing bit has been their failure to pay 30m for ThiagoI thought he was the one they weren't willing to pay more than a tenner for?
The thing is Cavani wouldn’t want a 1 year contract. Reports have said he’s looking for 3 year contracts, 2 at the very least.Would anyone else take Cavani on a free for a year ahead of going big for someone like Haaland next summer? Think it'd make a lot of sense personally. At least there's some height there then for a 'Plan B'

Not on the wages he'd want. If he was willing to come and take a pay cut then maybe.Would anyone else take Cavani on a free for a year ahead of going big for someone like Haaland next summer? Think it'd make a lot of sense personally. At least there's some height there then for a 'Plan B'
