Hindsight is that faux bed fellow, which gives certainty where previously there was doubt.I understand the need to break quickly into the elite and top 4 , but still the Bony , and to a lesser extent Mangala signings still puzzle me.
The whole game of transfers is mainly a huge punt. Some world-class players (and there are very few of those) might transcend that and be a success at any club they go to, but many will not. Every club and every manager has a litany of failed signings, that's just the nature of the beast. Whilst no-one can pretend Bony has been a success, he's never had the team set up in a way for him to thrive. You cannot buy him as an alternative to Aguero and then, when he plays, set the team up as if Aguero was playing. He never had a chance really.
I suspect that Guardiola knows he will never set up a team to suit Bony, so letting him go is the best option, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't do to badly wherever he ends up.
