General transfer rumours

Guehi would be insane to go to the dippers now. At the minute, playing every week for palace he's a shoe in for a starting spot in the world cup, he goes there where he'll play games but not every week, instead sharing games with Konate and missing all the big games and suddenly his starting spot is gone and his place in the squad isn't guaranteed. If he's determined to leave Palace, you go next summer
England only has stones and guehi + Maguire. He will 100% start regardless. Most likely already talked to Tuchel about that.
Selling Quansah for 40 and getting Guehi for 60 instead is good business despite a year left.

Konate is Real Madrid or PSG bound next year. He will leave before Van Dick

Van Dijk won't be around next year. It's the perfect signing. He'll take over from Konate sooner rather than later this season I think. Why not go now? He'll play enough to play for England, not bursting at the seams with quality centre backs are we? It hurts to say but the scousers are fucking on it. Sadly.
He's just signed a contract until 2027 so he will be around next year but whether he is or isn't, isn't relevant. my entire point was looking solely at next season from Guehi's perspective and the guaranteed England starting spot at palace to putting it in jeopardy by moving.

Coz footballers always see out their contracts ;). Year after then. I just don't see how signing for Liverpool makes it worse for him. He'll play enough and probably get a fucking whopping pay rise (that'll never be mentioned)

Konsa and colwill will play regularly and have an eye on getting a starting spot. branthwaite will play regularly too and is an outside shot if he progresses, Dan Burn who I don't think he's good enough, will play regularly for newcastle.

Whilst i think Guehi is better than them all, he isn't a cut above these players to guarantee himself a starting spot if he isn't playing every week. Any of those could overtake him in the pecking order if he isnt playing.

Konate might be off next summer but I isn't this summer. I didn't say it wasn't good business for the dippers either, I said it would be insane for Guehi to do it as I was looking at it purely from his perspective not the dippers.

Sign for them and he will be made captain for England. Thats how it works.

Liverpool have been fantastic so far in the window. Getting 30m plus add ons which is more like 35m for Quansah is amazing business - especially if they manage to get Guehi for a similar fee. They're an incredibly well run club.

So well run they paid £85m for a donkey upfront and so well run that they allowed their 3 best players to enter the final year of their contract simulatenously, 2 of which rinsed the club for mammoth wages despite their worrying age and the other who they valued at more than £100m who was clun trained, left them on a free. What part of any of that is well run?

I disagree. Every club makes mistakes even us who very well run like Liverpool. I could flip that and say they got 40 million for an ageing Fabinho, let go of Milner and Henderson and paid under 120m for 3 quality midfield players, which ultimately won them the title this last season. Other clubs like Chelsea are paying 200 million plus for less quality.

Salah and Van Dijk are well worth the money they are being paid. Those types of players aren't about in the market anymore, and they're still at the tops of their games as shown last season. Trent I agree with, huge mistake but they probably thought Trent would always sign a contract. Possible arrogance on their part.

People really rate Guehi like that ? I thinks he’s alright.

Mmm, Berti No Show. The name sounds interesting but not as interesting as United no money or even OT is falling down

Fabinho was what 28/29 when they sold him for less than what they bought him for. Hardly old, same age as Rodri is now.

Letting go of Milner and Henderson in the same window as fabinho isn't the example of good business you're claiming it to be. Losing 3 key players in the same area of the pitch at once is never what you want. that was done out of desperation through consecutive years of bad management. it worked out for them with who they got in, call that good recruitment or blind luck, it's not a situation that they'll ever want to be in again. Using Chelsea as the comparison doesnt strengthen the arguement either given theyve spent wildly. And by the way, you'll recall Liverpool themselves bid over £100m for caiceido themselves only for him to reject them and then bid for lavia for him to do thr same thing.

You've no idea whether Salah and vvd are worth the money, they might be worth it on last seasons form but theres no guarantee thats what you're getting from them for the next couple of years. they're approaching mid 30's now, they've got themselves nice shiny multiple year contracts and they could fall off a cliff at any moment and then you're stuck with £1m a week wages on two liabilities that will also have to play. There's a reason most clubs tend to only offer 1 year contracts around that age.

Jarell Quansah has verbally agreed personal terms with Bayer Leverkusen!Bayer and Liverpool are closing in on permanent deal, understand it will be worth £30m plus add-ons for the defender.

Fabinho was clearly over the hill and was quicky declining. Whatever the age, Fabinho's legs had gone and he needed replacing. I think getting McCallister, Gravenberch, Szoboslai and Endo in the same window was pretty good business considering that season they were getting hammered off the likes of Brighton and Wolves. I just think without that transfer window they don't win the title last season and their new midfield recruits were key last season when us and Arsenal went through a bad run. We are in a similar situation this season with key signings in the midfield and Rodri being back. No doubt Nico, Reijnders, Rodri and Cherki will be key.

Well we can only base it off their current form, and off that they are worth the money at this present time. You could be right and they could decline quickly, who knows. Salah was the league's best player and Van Dijk was the league's best defender last season. Take those 2 out of their side and they probably don't win the title last season, so the Club had no choice but to offer them new deals. Alternatively we can say if Rodri doesn't do his ACL we may have won the title. They got lucky without key injuries and we were unlucky with injuries to key players. Both players look as though they will still be fit in 2 years, especially Salah who's in better physical condition than most 25 year olds in the league.

If Kev had been performing to the level of his previous years we'd have given him a 1-2 year deal no doubt. He started the season off brilliant against the likes of Ipswich, West Ham and Chelsea and then it seemed as though the big injury at the start of the season destroyed him. He never returned the same player.
