Letting go of Milner and Henderson in the same window as fabinho isn't the example of good business you're claiming it to be. Losing 3 key players in the same area of the pitch at once is never what you want. that was done out of desperation through consecutive years of bad management. it worked out for them with who they got in, call that good recruitment or blind luck, it's not a situation that they'll ever want to be in again. Using Chelsea as the comparison doesnt strengthen the arguement either given theyve spent wildly. And by the way, you'll recall Liverpool themselves bid over £100m for caiceido themselves only for him to reject them and then bid for lavia for him to do thr same thing.
You've no idea whether Salah and vvd are worth the money, they might be worth it on last seasons form but theres no guarantee thats what you're getting from them for the next couple of years. they're approaching mid 30's now, they've got themselves nice shiny multiple year contracts and they could fall off a cliff at any moment and then you're stuck with £1m a week wages on two liabilities that will also have to play. There's a reason most clubs tend to only offer 1 year contracts around that age.
