General transfer rumours

Also being linked with Arsenal

If we're truly in for him it means Ox is off I think.

As for if he's any good, he is good yes. He isn't too quick, loves going forward as well. He isn't better than Walker, Bellerin etc but he'd be quality backup for those guys.

Seems like after a positive start, were getting left behind

No sure about that. Look at who our rivals have signed:

Arsenal: Kolasinac, Lacazette
Chelsea: Caballero, Rudiger
Liverpool: Salah, Solanke
United: Lindelof, Lukaku
Spurs: No-one as yet

I'd say us having signed two players is about par for the course at the moment.

Don't come on here talking all common sense mate.

par for the course in terms of numbers. But it seems that we released 3 full backs without having identified and targeted replacements. What happens in the window should reflect years and months of planning.

Yeah you can't really look at other teams business. The way I see it is if your team is doing well in the market you tend to not care about what other teams are doing. Your business so far is a hell of a lot better than 4 of those clubs. Probably on par with Arsenal in terms of quality of player.

Soo Walker, Mendy, Alves, Bertrand weren't/aren't identified as replacements? What kind of nonsense is that.
No I don't think Alves was identified as a replacement. It was something that fell into our laps. He had a contract at Juve.

We had 4 full backs in their 30s. Should have had this covered. You scout everyone. You find about all the top players in Europe and South America. You get players into your academy and time it moving them out on loan to get the experience required. The window opens and you have a fixed period of time to plan. But we have a Football Director who oversees a whole network of people and systems. It does not look good that we are in levy's hands after both right backs predictably left. Should have had a whole series of young players lined up, and maybe Walker. Not impressed.

I know Alves decision hurt us, but it should not make much difference if we have been working for years for this. In fact we really shouldn't be in for 34 years olds in the first place.

Genuine question - Would you be in a positive frame of mind about the club if we had given any of those 3 FBs new contracts?

if yes - well, let's just say that you are in a minority

if no - then I would ask just why the fuck you are bringing this to bear unless it is just a excuse to bleat negatively about the club

if we on here can see that there is currently a shortage in the FBs area - do you think that Pep has not spotted it. If you are confident that Pep has spotted it there is not purpose in referring to past players

Not specifically aimed at you but in recent years there really has been a development in the psyche of some of the CITY fans to become so fucking negative. It is becoming prevalent in so many threads and does spoil the enjoyment of the forum for (I am sure) a lot of positive CITY fans
