If Brentford wanted £30m all in then why did they accept a £3m loan and option for another £27m. Surely if Arsenal take up the option he must have been a success and his value rises accordingly. If he has a mare then they get him back and his value has fallen. Plus, they need to buy a new goalkeeper who may be pushed out if Raya returns. Puzzling.

I think any keeper worth his salt should go there and expect to play Ramsdale out of the team. Ramsdale is decent and exactly what they needed in a point of time, but as a keeper he is nothing special. Could quite easily started for a team on the opposite end of the table without anyone batting an eyelid

Ramsdale is a fantastic shot stopper. And looks fancy in the ball when nor pressured. But his error rate under pressure ( which will come against the better and tougher teams) is a bit worrying.

Ergo, Raya. If Raya can show similar shot stopping proficiency, he'll bench Rammy eventually. Unless Rammy can cleanup those errors quickly.
