the enemy of my enemy... if they manage to beat United or Liverpool or even Arsenal to 4th I'd be very appreciative. :-) If they do that and still get relegated the next year. Even better. :-)

I'm with you, no clue why that's controversial. If someone is going to screw Liverpool and Man U. out of Champions League football it's Spurs. I'm all for it, every season.

Spurs? Can't see them finishing in the top 4. They'll start off well, be within shouting distance of the top 4 at the turn of the year, then fade away in the second half of the season (as per usual), finishing 6th or 7th.

In no way was I predicting a top 4 finish for Spurs. Was simply defending someone who was getting slack for suggesting that was his preference, for which he got a "how can you root for Spurs?!?!" type message (paraphrased, can't be bothered to go back a page). I think it would be a miracle for them if they finished top 4. That said, IF it had to happen that someone broke into that last spot, I think you'd be better off placing a wager on Spurs than any other outsiders.

Fair enough. But I'm actually with the poster who expressed a dislike for Spurs. They broke an 18 year old's heart back in 1981, and I won't forgive them for that!
 
Who do you hate least? Liverpool, United or Spurs?

For me it used to be Liverpool. But not anymore. Spurs are the least horrible.

Ditto Jim, i was 22 at the time and will never forget that Thursday evening replay, for a whole boat load of reasons, not least the Spuds pricks who were swarming all over 'our end' :-(

I actually missed Macca's wonder goal due to the 'fracas' ensuing all around us :-)

Couldn't make the thursday night (couldn't afford it), but I was there on the saturday.

What's this "we". Do we hate Wolves Newcastle Everton Bolton Wigan for beating us in cup finals as well?

I don't hate Tottenham. I don't like them neither. but there's United Liverpool Arsenal Leeds Millwall FCUnited Stockport and probably a few more way ahead on the list than Spurs.

I have hated them since they knocked us out of both cup competitions in the same year. They may have beaten us 4 times that season with the end one being the infamous fa cup q/f. I can remember their fans throwing all sorts of projectiles from their place in the north stand on to our heads in shitheads corner (how ironic). Horrible scummy fans who have some kind of superiority complex.
