Not sure whether Jones feels he is 'invincible' at times, but Glover T, on another night, would have caught him with a wild haymaker and claimed the title. That was my one fear for this latest title bout.
As for Gustaffson? I think he had his chance.
Jones will change up again, instead of engaging with him, and the challenger will be defeated easier next time.
Not sure who is on the horizon to challenge Jones unless a random event like 'Big Country' gets granted a shot!!
Right now, only big hitters have the odd chance cos Jones is way of everyone else in the game... in the UFC...
I disagree Gus May have exposed Jones biggest weakness, which is also his biggest strength, reach. Most of his dominating wins have been due to out reaching his opponents, I think Gus gave us a glimpse of Jones at heavyweight. It's a competitive fight which is why Jones wanted Gus to fight Cormier. I'd love to see Cormier maul Jones which I think is a realistic proposition, with his superior wrestling. On another note, is Gareht A Davies still on Bt? I can't watch with him on he's just a prat.
Wait... Didn't Jones nullify the whole 'reach' aspect by trading in close quarters with Teixeira and coming out the winner(obviously!)? Gustaffson is a volume puncher, but not a big hitter, per se.
As for Cormier, he's a quicker Teixeira, sure, but the wrestling isn't too far from GT, either.
Jones will cut him up with his elbows in close combat and/ or give him a KO to the head with kicks.
DC's game ain't all that.
Cormier is a beast, he has solid wrestling good hands if he needs to use them, and wins over Barnett and Bigfoot. Plus he trains with possibly the fittest most intense guy in the sport. He's also mentally strong and wants a piece of Jones bad, could be a rough night for Jones that.[/quote]
Whilst all of that might be true, I submit that Cormier is easier to find a sparring partner to mimic and train against than it would be to find a mimic for Jones. Cos, let's face it, Barnett and Silva are one dimensional fighters.
