General Videogame Thread

I agree totally a good pc blows them all away, like I said it’s whatever your mates play on, I still use my pc for guild wars 2, warcraft, PS4 for shooters although destiny 2 has died on its arse and I’m too old for COD these days kids kick my arse
I've not played Destiny but I thought that was one of the top sellers though? I get what you're saying anyway they are all good value if you're careful with the games you buy(ie no impulse buys, day one releases, skip the first year of consoles release IMO).

I feel the same about being too old for online gaming, I am tempted to take the latest PES online as I miss taking on human opponents but it was way too addictive and competitive. These days I view it more like an adrenaline fuelled sport than something to relax you.

They’ve ruined destiny players have fallen off faster than Division there’s just nothing to do at the end, they messed to much with stuff in game and people don’t like it.

Ah the cynic in me says they messed it up on purpose so they get to say they listened to the fans in the next release haha.

Nah mate they’ve lost a lot of players and the pc players think they’ve been sold a pup for £40 they expect years if content not 2 weeks I think bungie have blown it unless they give the dlc away for free many wont bother

Finally completed Zelda BOTW....

Final opinion.... If the game was just directed around the main quest then it would be a really good game. Could have cut a 100 hours game down to about 30-40 hours.
The problem being is that you need to do alot of the side quest stuff otherwise you're going to struggle near the end game!
You need to acquire as much rupees as possible to buy decent armour/arrows, you need to seek out the shrines to pump your health up as much as possible and stamina too! You need to grind monster parts to use to make different type of arrows to destroy guardians (upgrading armour helps), You also need to acquire Links master sword.... all this is essential for the end game, and allows you to piss through it, so it kind of feels like a forced extra 50 hours that isn't enjoyable as alot of the stuff doesn't feel rewarding until it piles up together at the end.

I'm kind of glad there isn't a trophy system implemented on the switch yet, as I would have felt obligated to 100% the game, this way I was able to leave a lot of the unnecessary stuff out and just rush through it as much as I could.

The only parts I really enjoyed was watching the memory clips that you have to seek out. Zelda is probably my favourite character of the game, the rest have nothing about them. I'm also surprised that they continue to make Link a mute, I reckon some fans would probably kick off if they have him a voice I suppose?

Oh well now I can go back to enjoying Mario!

Just started playing metal gear solid 5. After a bonkers first hour ive just made it to Afghanistan. Any tips or hints?

Avoid going loud (obviously)
Do as many side quests as possible to rank up in line with the main missions, although the side quests do become repetitive
As another poster mentions, kidnap high profile enemies

Has anyone put many hours in the VR ps4 yet? I know people say about the motion sickness, but that aside, has anyone formed much opinion on the content and games? Looking at maybe getting it over xmas and thinking Skyrim, Gran Turismo, Res Evil, Everest all look pretty spectacular, just wondering what the actual game play is like? I ploughed so many hours into Skyrim, is that realistic on VR?

Finished Mario on the switch! Loved the game, easy as fuck but had hours of fun playing it.... I played Mario sunshine back when it came out, but not having a GameCube I missed out.... so glad I didn't miss out on this one!

I'm now in the middle of playing battle chef brigade... so far it's pleasantly fun, basic indie /puzzle/rpg game, but i reckon I'll be gutted when I complete it.
