General Videogame Thread

They've only released part 1 up to now

I didn't realise it was in parts, might have altered my decision to part with 50 notes....

It does explain alot though, I kept thinking 'we haven't even got out midgar yet, this game must be huge.'

Yeah I've heard part 2 might be out in July but not sure about that. I'm interested to see how many parts they do in total and how they progress the game from where part 1 ended.

I've just finished Final Fantasy 7 remake. The reviews have all been brilliant but I was really disappointed with it. I got to what started to look like the end of the game and I was thinking 'this can't be the end of the game, there's still loads to do and places to go', but it turns out it was the end.

What a let down.

This reminds me of when we got to the end of the Fellowship of the Ring film and my mum was livid when the film ended just as they saw Mount Doom for the first time.

I still haven't finished the FF7 remake yet. I have enjoyed it so far but it's a bit of a sickener to have to pay three times for a game I already know the ending to.

I enjoyed playing the game itself, I think the battle system and materia levelling up is one of the best yet but the end (or what I thought was the end) ruined it for me. I might replay it again now that my expectations have been altered.

I think I'm finally nearing the end of Fallout 4. I'm deliberately holding off finishing the main quest until I've done most of the side quests, but to be fair, I've put a ridiculous amount of time into it so far.

I have put in a load of time into this game but I am absolutely nowhere near finishing the missions, I have the main one paused on entering the institute and I have done a few to completion here and there, got the DLC and have just started being a Raider lol

But I spend all my time base building, which I guess is pretty sad but fuck it I like doing it, when you first get to build them you don't have the best of materials but then with the DLC and other things have appeared and I have systematically been ripping them all down and rebuilding them all over again.

I just downloaded a couple of mods the other week, I had never bothered when they first appeared but got sick of doing that weapon dropping cheat to build bigger bases, so got the unlimited base mod and the wonderful no electricity wire mod, the wires have always done my head in lol

I've been making a bar and carefully lining up all of the different bottles of alcohol on a shelf. Yeah, it's really sad. I've noticed that it barely makes any difference though. One settlement was at happiness 79% and I built 3 buildings full of stuff and five shops and it went up 2%. And I think even that was a coincidence.

I did that at one of my places and when I returned to it one of the clumsy cunts had knocked them all on the floor, I gave up on that level of realism after that incident and the 3 or 4 hours it took to get everything aligned right on shelves.

The wife thinks I am incredibly sad when I play that game and in all fairness I can't come up with a convincing argument against lol She often says why don't you go and shoot something ffs :)

The free PSN games for May are Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator. Available for download from 5th May.

I'm tempted to give Cities a go. I wondered if Farming Simulator would be a different experience but the reviews aren't even the slightest bit encouraging.

Get it, it is good for an hour or two at a time. It is exactly as it says on the tin, you can't expect explosions and gunfire from a tractor lol
