Thinking I might take the plunge and invest in a 4k tv and the Xbox one X. Only issue I'm worried about is they'll probably bring another new console out within a few years. Is it worth the 800 pounds to upgrade?

Depends what tv you are getting, it you won’t get an Xbox and tv for that. Ps5 in next 18 months will piss on it I reckon

Ye seems ok mate but you’ll need to sit about 3 feet or less to get the benefit of 4K on the screen size.

Looking at upgrading my TV for 4K.... did some research and found out that HDR is the main selling point people need to look at... apparently different manufactures do HDR differently.

Anyone who wants to know more about HDR vs 4K check this article from last year, pretty much covers the basics.
Also this article will cover the best HDR tv's for gaming experiences.

After researching and knowing that the Sony XE90 is better for displaying bright and dark imagery, I've still got my heart set on the Samsung Q7F

My next tv will be OLED unbelievably good blacks just need them to drop to £600 for 55 or a bit more for a 65 inch

From what I've read OLED has better blacks but QLED has brighter whites and better colour for bright and vibrant scenes, they need to mate these two technologies to create a hybrid.
