Any combat tips for elden ring?

If you aren't already, take advantage of having a shield. This wasn't available in Bloodborne or Sekiro, at least not to any degree of usefulness. I leave the more technical builds for future playthroughs. These games attract a type that can take pleasure out of making it as hard for themselves as possible, I say there's no harm in using every tool available.

Can you give yourself more health flasks? At the resting points you can allocate them out. Say if you aren't using the magic flasks, then allocate them all to your health flasks instead. You can find items that will increase your capacity for these and also how much they heal for etc.

Also, when fighting (if blocking with a sword or using a shield), its just as important to keep an eye on your green bar as your red bar. The green bar is your stamina. This depletes incrementally every time you hit someone, block, roll or dodge. Its important to watch that as the fuller it is, means the bigger hits you can block, the more you can roll or dodge, and so on. It regenerates faster when you aren't blocking so don't be afraid to release it when you're in a safer spot out of monster reach.

I should also add that its a theme in these games to be able to block something that you really think you shouldn't be able to. Even if a monster is huge, try and block as well as dodging

Wait for the enemy to got through His hitting moves then jump hit him am using that massive sword from that camp got from in the trailer had to go two handed till got my strength up! Once you get the horse you can go around smashing everything to get your level up.

Hanging around the camp where all those on horse back are to get my level up lore before entering the castle.

Yeah I beat my first dungeon boss just now using the jump r2 technique and worked really well. Felt like a right achievement.

Whenever I play these games I use me sword from one of the first two maps and stick with it. Don't normally go down the magic/sorcery route but they have helped with certain bosses, must admit.

Great game Sekiro

There's no combat tips that run true for everything. It entirely depends on the enemy and your build. Whatever build you choose you'll naturally find things that you'll struggle with because it doesn't suit.

Personally, I prefer to not rely on the shield, it won't be that useful against bosses anyway and it encourages you to learn the enemy patterns that way. dodge and roll, try to encircle enemies and get a back stab in for huge damage and a chance to heal is my go to tactics for most things.

Reading through social media, it’s become apparent that many people have bought Elden Ring not fully understanding what a souls game is.

Is anybody else having a really weird time with the difficulty in this game? I'm a seasoned souls player so I know what's what, but with this game I'm finding that I'm beating the sub bosses and even the great bosses pretty much first time everytime so far yet I'm struggling more with the standard mob enemies than in other souls games.

I've just beat my second great enemy boss, leonine, I beat him and margit on my first go, yet the enemies leading up to the bosses kicked my arse, it's pretty much the opposite to what souls games are usually like.

I'm not overlevelled either, if anything I'm quite underleveled, I'm only tanking 1/2 hits before I'm dead. I've either inadvertently built a great boss killing build or there's something a bit off.

Still on Margite. I'm getting very close but his second phase is getting me every time. Struggling to find the correct rune to level my sword up.

Really enjoying it though.

As I said yesterday, i'm seeing a lot of people make grievances with it, especially when it comes to certain classes. Perhaps i'm wrong in thinking people misunderstood the game then if people used to souls games are taking issue with it.

FromSoftware are getting quite a bit of pushback in regards to accessibility to it's only a matter of time before they offer easier modes in their games.

Margit took me loads of goes. Had to use NPC summons in the end and one of the summon spells you can get. And even then it was close.

Mobs havent been a problem and neither have most mini bosses. Struggle with big, fast things though (gigantic bears for example)

I'm not neccesarily complaining, it's just odd. I've no issue with it being difficult, I've finished all souls games, I love the challenge and if anything I would make them harder if it were upto me. My issue is more of it feeling unbalanced, I'm having a much easier time on bosses and sub bosses than regular mobs which is just weird. I started as the samurai, put a few points into health, dexertity and endurance and that's about it, have a +2 uchigatana, no magic etc so far, a talisman that heals on critical hit is about the only noteworthy upgrade, armour has barely changed since the beginning, my build isn't some crazy specialist build, not to my knowledge anyway. I'm still basically at the beginning if I'm to believe it's as big as is being suggested so perhaps that will change as I get stuck into it.

Having always turned my nose up at Borderlands I took a punt on the Handsome Collection for a fiver.

Goodbye life. Cooping it with the missus splitscreen, its absolutely brilliant, and hilarious at times.

Got to try and persist. Spent two hours last night riding around trying not to be killed but inevitably something killed me before id saved and lost everything. 2 hours and when i finished i was right back at where id started. So frustrating.

Did you beat Margit solo?
I used the NPC and i summoned the Jellyfish. I believe my weapon was +2 and I was around level 20. I currently trying Stormveil but feel like I need to level up more and get new weapons.

I believe my Samurai sword is maxed at the moment so going to spend a few hours tonight looking for better weapons.
