General Videogame Thread

Despite having access to a new X a semi decent pc, ps4 pro and a quest i have found myself drawn back to playing C&C generals Zero Hour (despite being absolute pants at the game).

I only play against the Ai but I have heard that a fair bit of fan remastering has gone on i was wondering if anyone has a good starting point to tap into these fan updates.

I downloaded the Gamepass version rd2 online as I thought it had the single player game on it but it doesn’t, it looks stunning but is it worth playing the online bit only?
I finished the story a few weeks back (as previously posted, it has become one of my favourites of all time) - I made the move over to RDO to see what it's like and it's fairly enjoyable.

As others have mentioned, it's a good old grind and for you to progress relatively quickly it relies on doing a daily mission every day for gold multiplier - not a major issue but one I'm not a massive fan of.

There's lots to do, a variety of jobs and missions and the dailies do add a different feel when you log in but for me it's definitely missing something for me to play it past the achievements. Although I've not maxed everything out, the lack of choice once you have will be the killer for me - I want to buy property and businesses, I want to go do a major robbery with friends, I want to make my camp bigger and better like the story but apart from a shack for a role, a dog and a flag for my camp it just doesn't have enough for me to play it full time.

the place I work used to regularly play Redalert online.

I'm in no rush to get into it but I was wondering if any Bluemooners had experience with Sega Saturn emulators/ROMs? There are guides online how to do it but would rather draw from our pool of knowledge if I can.

As a kid I had a Sega Saturn instead of a PS1 and I owned a game that would be considered fairly rare, Shining Force 3. Even now I still think the game can fetch 70/80 quid online, and it was probably one of the first games to be big enough to require a memory card (the Saturn actually used a lithium battery to power it's save function, but it took me many years to realise that). I broke out my Saturn from my loft at home in my early 20s and played SF3 for longer than I ever did as a kid, but got a good few hours in and realised my disc had an unrepairable glitch. If I was a lesser man I could sell this disc to a collector and they wouldn't know until I'd vanished off into the sunset.

The game is a trilogy but only the first part was released in English, with the other two only being released in Japan. Fan translations have been made and I'd really like to play this game in its entirety one day, so was just wondering if anyone on here had ever tried their hand at Saturn emulators.
