The world record? (Mid 1:36?)
Don’t compare too much with that as it was a cold track temp so much grippier meaning I could run a few MPH faster into some of the corners and brake harder etc.
How are you getting on with the big sweeping right hander (T3 and T4)? Are you managing to take it with a lift only?

Pirate jobs ahoy!
Boosting my ship flying skills so I can fly the class b and c ships. This means shooting down a lot of ships. Sarah is not happy!
This highlights a small flaw. It's very rare to find a ship to blow up unless you want to attack the UC or Freestar. Did this once, quicksave first, and boom...a space full of enemies. Died quite quickly.
So you are left with the bloke I stitched up to get into the crimson fleet and a load of other random outside planet ships. Planets that are many moons away. I'm also picking what look like space only missions. Its a slog!
Still, a pirate life for me. Might actually do some proper missions in the crimson fleet saga soon.
Oh...ship parts. Make sure they are actually stored on your ship and not in your pocket.

Can barely hit t1 today for some reason. have got 3 and 4 down, a couple of tenths off my best, probably a second if I could put a consistent one together.

Yeah it can be tricky, just remember your maximum force is in a straight line, trail it off as you begin to turn and don’t downshift until you’re going back on to the throttle. The Vee’s are different to the majority of cars on the Sim in that it’s always a late downshift.
An hour and 45 minutes and then it’s the start of week 1 for this first race of the season (then the races are hourly for 12 weeks). Best of luck.

If you can put those times in consistently you’ll absolutely smash the lower splits that you’ll be starting in (rookies start on 1,350 iR but you can see the eating until you’ve progressed to D license). Those times would see you moving up through the spots fairly quickly.
I just took pole in top split with a 1:37.35 and ended up winning by about 30 seconds. Most were in the high 1:38’s to the low 1:40’s so as someone new to iRacing you’re up there straight away.

Very excited, just checked the records so far and I out qualified Alonso, I’ve beaten him before using the draft but never beaten him on an open track before. This is why the Vees are great, it’s the one most of the F1 drivers race on as the racing is so close.
That's absolutely brilliant and an outstanding achievement. Fair fucking play!
